That Maher is still walking the streets drawing breath is a testament to just how civilized we are in these United States.  In any other country in the world, Maher would at this time, be pushing up daisy's right now for talking about the leader of his country in this light.

He needs to hit his knees every morning and thank God that he is in America. But he won't, he is another one of those that thinks he is owed something. And this country is about full up on people thinking they are owed something.

Cramer is somewhat of an idiot (I think he said he Voted for Obama), but if Maher is against him, Cramer must be correct!

Well, that is the roughest eight minutes I have spent all day...

Maher, nor the POS Mayor is worth commenting on at this moment or I would be banned from NBs....so I will watch other posters and comment here and there as I cool off.

These media analysts are simply cowards. They're not willing to place the blame where it belongs - on the financiers who offered bad deals, and the people who accepted the deal. Why not? Because those same people are viewers, and to tell the truth would piss off their salaries. In the segment, Maher made a truly stupid comment ... he said that the people weren't experts, and so they weren't resposnible for the deals they made. As George Will says, what is it about "adjustable" rate that you don't understand?

Instead of blaming the people who are really to blame, they argue that it's Bush's economy. They can't bring themselves to be precise in their blame, so they lazily bundle it together and throw it at Bush. But if Bush was really to blame, that means that a president is expected to monitor the margin in each transaction, monitor the way private citizens conduct their business, and force private citizens to do business in the pristine purity of hindsight. 

In typical liberal style, they want the government to stay out of our lives, unless they need to blame someone. Then they argue that the president should have stopped us from our own stupidity.

And what's really worse is that instead of taking responsibility for the whole thing, they want the American people to sit back and hand everything over to Obama. Not only do they refuse to take responsibility for what they've already done, now they don't want to take responsibility for what has to be done in the future.

• Everyone with an ounce of sense knows that there's a limit to how much a president can help an economy. An economy is a complicated interconnection between the entire population, which is now exponentially more intricate and intertwined in a global economy. There's only so much that a president can do to help.
• At the same time, a president can do a world of damage. It's almost a law in game theory: if the success of the whole depends on universal cooperation, any individual can destroy the effort. It takes a team to win, but any individual can cause failure.

That said, the reason why we jump on Obama is because Obama is damaging the system. Through most of his term, Bush may not have helped the team succeed, but he didn't do very much to bring it down, either. His big disaster was to try and throw money at the problem in his last months - that caused damage. But now here's Obama, throwing trillions at the problem, causing the same damage Bush did but in the trillion range. That's why we're so intent on opposing him.

In typical liberal style, all they can do it compare the complaints, and say that Obama should have equal time (a common theme, isn't it?). Give him some time, after all, Bush had eight years. All they can think of is equality. They know nothing.

Mayor Booker and Erin Burnett demean themselves by talking to this worthless piece of filth let alone appearing on his show, what's next Howard Stern?

I can't believe I used the like this guy. I didn't always agree with him, but he was usually funny. Now he just comes across as a pompous jerk.

... and I think he knew what he was talking about.  So when the goal is reached what will happen to free speech?

Maher was also bashing any who opposed Obama's spending insanity, too. He was puzzled why anybody would NOT want healthcare to be run by the government! After all, according to Billy, the post office is the model of efficiency! (To the roar of the dumbasses in the audience...)

  It has occurred to me that I watch none of the shows that are criticised here at NB.

  I don't watch Maher because I actually want to be informed.

  I will say it again, there should be some kind of medal given out for sitting through the hokum of a show Maher puts out.

  And Noel would need a back brace due to the weight of the medals on his chest. Medals he gets for sitting through this garbage to keep us informed of what these idiots say.
