At the end of Thursday's The O'Reilly Factor, FNC's Bill O'Reilly gave a shout out to the Media Research Center, publisher of NewsBusters, for tracking the media's distorted coverage of the remarks made by O'Reilly last week on his radio show which the far-left has tried, with complicity of several media outlets, to turn into an “Imus moment”:
And finally tonight, the mail. Before we get to the letters, I want to thank Brent Bozell and his staff at M, as in Mary, RC.org. They're doing a great job covering this racial deal. Thank you guys.
On Thursday, the MRC issued a press release: “BOZELL CALLS ON CBS AND CNN TO APOLOGIZE TO BILL O’REILLY; CBS and CNN Embarrassing Themselves by Associating With Dishonest, Far-Left Organizations Such As Media Matters.” (As posted on NewsBusters and MRC.org)
Video clip (15 secs): Real (450 KB) or Windows Media (500 KB), plus MP3 audio (75 KB)
A rundown of MRC.org posts, most of which were also posted on NewsBusters:
“CBS News Disreputably Promotes Left-Wing Smear of Bill O'Reilly” (MRC.org and NewsBusters)“MSNBC Graphic Defames O'Reilly: 'Anchor's Racist Comments'” (MRC.org and NewsBusters)
“On CNN, O'Reilly is 'Ahmadinejad,' Juan Williams a 'Happy Negro'” (MRC.org and NewsBusters)
“Is Keith ‘Chicken & Waffles’ Olbermann a ‘Passive-Aggressive’ Racist?” (NewsBusters)
“CNN Sees 'Imus Moment' for O'Reilly, Williams Calls CNN 'Idiots'” (MRC.org)
For all the NewsBusters items on O'Reilly.

I'm not a fan of O'Reilly, but you guys ARE doing a great job

September 27, 2007 - 22:15 ET by SeptemberI don't think you have to be a fan of O'Reilly's to be a fan of fairness and decency.
September, we both know that when the left targets someone
September 27, 2007 - 22:28 ET by RJ"fairness and decency" are the first casualties.
O'Reilly has said he will use this ugly attack as a platform to shine a spotlight on this kind of smearing. It's my hope that he will be able to use it as a gift from the left to increase his already high ratings.
That would be beautiful irony.
They have awakened the
September 28, 2007 - 10:10 ET by drillanwrThey have awakened the sleeping giant? ... What's Bill O`Reilly ... 7' tall??? ;^ )
P.S.
B.O. had Juan Williams on again last night regarding this and the nasty "happy negro" comment aimed at him ...
Juan looked quite disgusted with it all ... With THIS, and Juan's recent exclusive interview with Pres. Bush being spiked by his NPR, perhaps he is beginning to see the LLMSM for what is really is ...
No fan here either,
September 27, 2007 - 22:47 ET by mastersofdeceitNo fan here either, although I don't dislike Bill. I stayed away from the computer most of last weekend and didn't hear about this until monday. Certainly has been an interesting week around here.
I don't watch any of these shows or tv really. Just about one hour at night while I fall asleep and then it's usually Turner Classics (the only thing I really like Ted for : 0 )
But yeah great job this week by everyone. It really wasn't until I found MRC & then NB that I realised the media is so overtly pro-Democrat and anti-Conservative. Now everyone go get some drinks tomorrow night on me.

Pithy Question
September 27, 2007 - 23:35 ET by wahoowah72I submitted the following to BillO earlier today but received no response:
"Surely there are smear websites on the right. To truly be fair and balanced you
should identify them by name as well."
Once again BillO shows he is a coward by not accepting my invitation .
What say you?
But we on the right don't
September 27, 2007 - 23:44 ET by Right WingnutBut we on the right don't take things out of context to call the left racists......
We use the ENTIRE context of the left to accurately portray some of you as traitors.
Honestly, the DKOS had a poll where 40-45% of them said they'd rather live under Ahmadinejad than Bush. This is sheer lunacy, as they'd be killed by Ahmadinejad's thugs just for posting something they say about Bush every day. Lunacy, I tell you.
So if I understand you
September 28, 2007 - 07:40 ET by wahoowah72So if I understand you correctly, there are no smear sites on the right who take things out of context? Not a single one? Fascinating...
Time to clean the glasses,
September 28, 2007 - 09:31 ET by FastEdhe was talking about NB, and ignored making ref to smear sites - if you can enlighten us as to those who, on the right, far right, or even center, who smear or take things out of context, please, oh please show us the links.
What is fascinating, is that the 'right' will usually ask for corrections, dismissals, retirements, etc., when a politico "goes against the grain", BUT the 'left' will ignore or blame the "vast rw conspiracy" for their problems, usually and without proof that the acusations are wrong.
I expect the same will be shown in any reply here, so whithout PROOF or links, save your typing.

September 28, 2007 - 09:46 ET by Dave Pierre1. wahoowah72: "Once again BillO shows he is a coward by not accepting my invitation."
The guy probably gets thousands of e-mails a night, and he's a "coward" because he doesn't answer yours? Please ...
2. O'Reilly has identified right-wing web sites. Only a couple of weeks ago, he had on a leader from FreeRepublic.com, and Bill was very hard on him for comments that were posted there.
(It might help if you actually watch the show regularly.)
I was just watching
September 28, 2007 - 05:22 ET by Gat New YorkI was just watching "Morning Joe" and watching Scareboro call O'Reilly "desperate" by having Sharpton and Jackson on his show. He also saw him take out of context and completely misrepresent O'Reilly's statement about the dress of Blacks at a concert. Scareboro must be absolutely deperate for ratings as well a getting paid a lot of money for being a weak weasel.
* I Have A Dream...
September 28, 2007 - 06:01 ET by rob6677... that someday we'll no longer need NB or MRC and that all news outlets will be united in an effort to make the world a better place, that someday we will not need Bill O'Reilly or Ann Coulter to point the way to the promised land, and that someday, free thinking common sense people will be able to converse with the general population and not be fearful of becoming morons! I Have A Dream!

rob, you'll be dreaming for
September 28, 2007 - 07:29 ET by Senior Chiefrob, you'll be dreaming for a loooong night. As long as there are people who will define words, behavior, attitiude or culture according to their interpretation, racism and stereotyping will not go away. The answer lies in civilized discussion and confronting the issues without name calling. But then again, words have different application and meaning to some groups of people.
To prove my point, check these words: articulate (to Obama), ho (to bballers), bitch (Isiah Thomas accuser), music lyrics (m-f-ers, n-word, f-word) etc, etc. All of these words are derogatory (well except articulate, which is not) being tolerated and some activists embrace the "freedom speech" excuse bs, then we'll be dealing with racism for all generation to come.
I think BOR is handling this
September 28, 2007 - 08:42 ET by PeskyDaneI think BOR is handling this with panache. He is showing everyone who does not walk in lock-step with the libs how to handle them.
First, he has (thus far) refused to apologize. This tactic is working extremely well. Contrast this with the groveling that usually occurs whenever a non-lib is accused of "racism." Groveling, asking forgiveness, going to asinine "sensitivity" classes is like dangling dripping red meat in front of the pit bulls on the left. So far, he is having none of that.
Second, last night he made Jesse Jackson come to him. He did not go on some stupid pilgrimage to Jackson and kiss his ring. If Imus had insisted that the girls from Rutgers appear on his show to talk it over, he would have increased the odds in his favor, and might still be employed.
The lesson being demonstrated is one that in the end, these people are impotent to really do anything. The Left's template is similar to your wife or girlfriend testing you by throwing a fit. If you give in to the drama, then you will be forever treated with contempt. On the other hand, if you act with confidence, stay in control of yourself, insist on setting the agenda, and frame the conversation, then you're in for a very healthy relationship.

As far as the wife argument goes, pick the battle, drapes, wall color, china patterns, don't stack-up with the new Vette sitting in the driveway, or the keg of beer in the fridge, or the size of the stake on the grill.

September 28, 2007 - 13:02 ET by nicksmith112Forgive me if this has been mentioned already but Jesse Jackson wanted NO PART of Bill O's black children born out of wedlock and father abandoning their children points because Rev. Jesse is just that kind of guy!!!
