Rep. Mia Love Tears Up on TV Over Planned Parenthood Videos

In case you missed it: Last Wednesday, freshman U.S. Rep. Mia Love (R-Utah) spoke to Lou Dobbs on the Fox Business network about the undercover Planned Parenthood videos that have recently come to light.

In an emotional interview, Love told Dobbs that “It’s our job to protect those who do not have a voice to protect themselves, and to see what is actually happening to babies while they're still alive, I mean, it's horrific…”

Love could be seen wiping tears away as she was speaking about the graphic videos, which included footage of Planned Parenthood executives bartering over prices of fetal tissue and the harvesting organs, and the vision of an aborted baby having brain tissue extracted through his/her face:

"This is not about a Right or Left issue – this is right or wrong, and whether we are going to stand up for those who cannot speak for themselves, or if we're going to just turn a blind eye and pretend that this is not happening…

When Dobbs asked, "Are we near having that adult conversation – mature and honest conversation, political dialogue in this country,” Love responded:

"Well, as long as I'm here, we need to make sure that we're having this conversation…As long as I'm here, it's my job to do everything I can to get colleagues on both sides of the aisle to see what's happening and stand up for what we believe is right…We've got to do everything we can to make sure that … the American people know exactly what's happening … and that we stand up and we don't allow this to happen.”

Even The Washington Post was taken back by Love’s demeanor, stating:

“Love came across as empathetic, heartfelt and eloquent as she laid bare her emotions on national television about abortion; emotions that seemed raw even weeks after the news of the leaked Planned Parenthood videos first broke. She spoke about how she's a mother and wife and how if she doesn't stand up for these unborn babies, who will?”
