For this reason violence in media is a public health issue, and one that has been around since the earliest days of television. That is why two studies by the Parents Television Council, a media watchdog group, deserve special attention. The most recent study, Dying to Entertain, documents a year's worth of prime time broadcast television. The other study, Wolves in Sheep's Clothing, looks specifically at television designed for children. Both studies show violence on television has reached unparalleled levels.
