On Sunday’s Meet the Press, conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt provided some much needed balance to the show’s political panel when he pressed Bill Daley, President Obama’s former Chief of Staff, over Hillary Clinton’s use of a private e-mail server.
Given Daley’s prominent role within the Obama White House during Clinton’s tenure at the State Department, Hewitt wondered “[h]ow surprised were you to learn that she had a private server and had you known about that at the time, would you have required that it be removed from her home?”
Despite Daley being Obama’s “right arm” the longtime Democratic operative argued the he wouldn't have “required it to be removed from her home because that's more than just her server. Obviously, it was something that I did not know and others didn't but she followed the rules of the State Department.”
The former Obama official tried to say that we’re “beyond that” whole server scandal before Hewitt pressed him again on if he had any “idea at all that there was a server over at the Clinton's residence.”
Daley appeared visibly surprised at Hewitt’s line of questioning and wondered “how would I know that” Clinton had a private server in her home. Hewitt suggested that the “Chief of Staff might” have such information but Daley maintained “they know a lot, but they don't know everything.”

NBC’s Meet the Press
June 14, 2015
HUGH HEWITT: Bill Daley, you were the president's right arm during the time that Secretary of State Clinton was in the State Department. How surprised were you to learn that she had a private server and had you known about that at the time, would you have required that it be removed from her home?
BILL DALEY: I don't know if I would have required it to be removed from her home because that's more than just her server. Obviously, it was something that I did not know and others didn't but she followed the rules of the State Department. And we're beyond that --
HEWITT: So you had no idea at all that there was a server over at the Clinton's residence?
DALEY: No. How would I know that?
HEWITT: I thought the Chief of Staff might.
DALEY: No, they know a lot, but they don't know everything.
