Did you know that the upcoming midterm elections can be summarized as Denny's vs Dunkin' Donuts? Does that sound ridiculous to you? Well, it is just as ridiculous as Chuck Todd stretching to raise Meet The Press out of its third place ratings yesterday by describing the midterm elections as Starbucks Nation vs Chick-Fil-A Country as you can see in this video (and below).
As a result, Todd who needs respect as the new host of MTP, instead received widespread and well deserved mockery from across the ideological spectrum. The mockery begins with Brian Maloney of the Media Equalizer who asks When did Sunday morning political shows become so pointless?
Did you know America is divided between Starbucks drinkers and Chick-fil-A eaters? According to NBC’s F Chuck Todd, you’re one or the other. Did you know it was all that simple?
Remember when Sunday morning political shows provided some benefit to the viewing public? Though always for political junkies, these programs at least provided insight one couldn’t get anywhere else. Now, Meet The Press has been dumbed-down to the point where cartoons might have more educational value.
Mediate weighed in with this snark:
As Todd put it, “It could be advantage to the chicken,” which I have a feeling is a sentence that will come back to haunt him.
Twitchy was chock (or chuck) full of tweets laughing at Todd's midterm elections analysis:
Dimwit Chuck Todd: Midterms boil down to "Starbucks Nation" vs. "Chick-Fil-A Country." You can't spell "oversimplification" without "MTP!"

Chuck Todd divides the USA into "Starbucks nation" and "Chick-Fil-A country." So his plan to save Meet the Press is asinine generalizations.

More insipid sophistry from Chuck Todd, who splits U.S. into "Starbucks Nation" and "Chick-Fil-A Country" pic.twitter.com/QIfuzFoV1y

Finally, a shocker. The Daily Kos actually experienced a brief moment of mental clarity as a Kossack pointed out a certain absurdity in Chuck's logic:
The first state Chuck Todd mentions as "Chick-Fil-A country" is Montana. However, according to the Chick-Fil-A website store locator there are NO CHICK-FIL-A LOCATIONS in Montana. Zero.
There are over a dozen Starbucks locations in Montana.
It seems that Chuck Todd got fried, as in Kentucky Fried Chicken, with his comparison.
