By now you've probably heard about pop singer Miley Cyrus's disturbingly raunchy performance at Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards.
On Monday, MSNBC's Mika Brzezinski totally excoriated the singer calling her "obviously deeply troubled, deeply disturbed" (video follows with transcribed highlights and commentary):
Morning Joe began with a clip of Cyrus's performance, which included: her dressed in a nude bra and panties touching herself in places people shouldn't in public; simulating masturbation; lewd acts with a styrofoam finger, and eventually; twerking against the crotch of the significantly elder Robin Thicke.
"That was really, really disturbing," Brzezinski said.
"That young lady, who is 20, is obviously deeply troubled, deeply disturbed," she continued. "Probably has an eating disorder."
Brezinski went on to call the performance "disgusting and embarrassing," and to say that those involved in the program's production "should be ashamed of themselves."
"She is a mess," added Brzezinski. "Someone needs to take care of her."
So disturbing was Cyrus's performance that this allegedly was Will Smith's family's reaction:
Yeah, that's about how I felt!
