Disgraced former New York governor Eliot Spitzer on Monday said he wouldn’t be voting for Anthony Weiner, and that the embattled sexter should not be mayor of New York City.
Appearing on MSNBC’s Hardball, Spitzer was cornered by host Chris Matthews to say who he was going to vote for in the upcoming election.
“Come on, answer the question,” Matthews pressed when Spitzer tried to sidestep it. “Show that you’re different than most politicians.”
As Spitzer continued to resist, Matthews said, “You’re not going to vote for Anthony Weiner, can you just say that? You don’t think he should be mayor of New York.”
“Fair point,” Spitzer responded. “That is correct.”
“He should not be mayor of New York?” Matthews again pressed.
“That is correct,” Spitzer repeated.
To my knowledge, that’s the first time Spitzer has gone on the record about this.
