Yes, the same gaffe for which liberals mocked Sarah Palin back in 2008.
This time when it was made, on Ed Schultz's radio show, Schultz dutifully let it pass without mockery. (audio clip after page break)
Here's how Delaware attorney general Beau Biden, a son of Vice President Joe Biden, described an Obama-Biden campaign event to Schultz on May 17 --
Well, you know, look, I'm down here in the commonwealth of Virginia, down in your, in your old neck of the woods here. I'm actually 'cross, across the water here in Portsmouth and on my way to Norfolk. And we're here with the national director of the Veteran and Military Families for O'Biden launch. Uh, for Obama launch.
Alas, if only Palin hadn't said it first, the younger Biden might have been spared the same mistake. Then again, the rest of what he said sounded more than a little shaky. The actual name of that organization, for example, is "Veterans" & Military Families for Obama, and it's been around since 2007, presumably long enough for Biden to get the name right. Especially considering that he serves in the Army National Guard, as his father often reminds us.
