Two weeks after airing the first portion of his slobbering interview with Vice President Kamala Harris, MSNBC's Al Sharpton finally got around to airing the second half, and it was just as embarrassing. It was such an important interview for Sharpton that he played it during the opening segment of his low-rated Saturday afternoon program PoliticsNation.
The first moment came when Sharpton told Harris that he was very moved by the portraits that were hung in her office in the White House. "I was very moved, and you and I have known each other a long time, I don't get moved easily, you let me go with the crew in your private office. And in your office that you work out of here at the White House. You have a picture of your mother at a demonstration. Around a protest around what happened and Birmingham in ‘63," Sharpton gushed.
Then came an equally cringeworthy moment when Sharpton said he believes Harris is guided by spirits: "You have over your shoulder a portrait of Thurgood Marshall, who went to Howard like you did. And you have him in this room, in the ceremonial room. I mean it’s almost like you are guided by the spirits of an American movement for equality."
Later on, after talking to Harris about the civil rights movement and how much progress has been made since the 1960s (evidenced by the fact that Harris is now Vice President), Sharpton suggested that Harris is the next generation's civil rights leader because she went to Flordia to screech about a made up controversy that the state taught that slavery was a good thing.
"Leading up to the 60 years later, is Vice President Kamala Harris going to Florida, standing up against them taking history. Is Vice President Kamala Harris fighting for women's right to choose?" Sharpton asked.

SHARPTON: Voting rights eroded. And you are part of the buildup around this time of seeing where we are as a country.
