CNN on Tuesday night hammered the 2020 Democratic presidential candidates from the left, demanding to know exactly how they plan on “stopping” pro-life states who dare to pass laws restricting abortion. Co-debate moderator Erin Burnett also promoted packing of the Supreme Court.
But first, she called for plans to “stop” pro-life red states: “Ohio is one of several states that has banned abortions after as early as six weeks of pregnancy. Many women don't even know they're pregnant at that time. The Ohio law is being challenged in the courts and has not yet taken effect. Senator Harris, if states prevail on restricting abortion, what's your plan to stop them?”
The journalist followed-up with other 2020 Democrats, needing plans and ways to stop pro-life states:
ERIN BURNETT: Senator Klobuchar, what would you do to stop states from prevailing? Your response?
...
BURNETT: Senator Booker, if states prevail on restricting abortion, how would you stop them? Please respond.
She prompted frontrunner Joe Biden with the idea of packing the Supreme Court:
The Supreme Court is currently made up of five Republican appointed justices and four appointed by Democrats. The Court just announced it will hear arguments in a case challenging some abortion rights. Vice President Biden, the Constitution does not specify the number of justices that serve on the Supreme Court. If Roe v. Wade is overturned on your watch and you can't pass legislation in Congress, would you seek to add justices to the Supreme Court to protect women's reproductive rights?
The idea was so extreme that even Joe Biden dismissed it: “I would not get into court packing. We add three justices. Next time around we lose control, they add three justices.”
Earlier in the show, CNN exonerated Joe and Hunter Biden, saying that they were “falsely accused” with “no evidence.” The network also pushed Democrats to support gun confiscation.
