MRC founder and president Brent Bozell appeared on Monday's Fox News at Night with Shannon Bream to discuss the end of Robert Mueller's investigation into the notion that President Trump colluded with the Russians in the 2016 campaign. Jessica Tarlov, one of the network's regular Democrat analysts, also appeared. Bozell insisted the Democrats and their media allies refuse to accept Mueller's finding that there was no collusion, and insisted that a truly patriotic media would celebrate the verdict.
SHANNON BREAM: So Brent, with that in mind, you know people say they need to see the full report by the Attorney General has summarized it and he quoted from the Special Counsel, specifically saying there was absolutely no collusion. Could there be some misinterpretation of the Attorney General's part?
BRENT BOZELL: No, and I disagree with your guest. The Democrats aren't going to get over this. They're never going to get over this. They are still pursuing this. Listen to them today. They want the full report. They're going to hold their own hearings. They're not about to accept this! Now they are grasping at straws with the obstruction count, which is just silly. In other words, Donald Trump investigated -- he obstructed with an investigation on his innocence. It doesn't make any sense. These people, look -- [Sigh] If the media truly were patriotic, they would be celebrating the vindication of their president, pure and simple. They want the overthrow of Donald Trump. They want to overthrow this government, and they are furious that they failed! They thought they would.
The Bream show ran the Monday night clip of CNN's Chris Cuomo refusing to apologize to Rudy Giuliani -- "I never did anything wrong" -- as well as a clip of Democrat congressman Adam Schiff on MSNBC's MTP Daily from March 22, 2017. He insisted repeatedly he had the goods on collusion. "I can tell you that the case is more than that and I can't go into the particulars but there is more than circumstantial evidence... I don't want to go into specifics but I will say there's evidence that's not circumstantial and is very much worthy of investigation."
Bozell demanded Schiff be the one under investigation now: "Put aside the dozens upon dozens of Democratic lawmakers and the dozens of people in the press who all said they believed he was guilty. Adam Schiff said -- as you mentioned, Shannon -- Adam Schiff said he had the evidence. At this point, let's do a little role reversal. Let's demand of Adam Schiff, where is that evidence? You went to the American people and you accused the president of something and you said you had the evidence. Where is that evidence? I would love to see what Adam Schiff was talking about."
Reminder: At that time, the networks were predictably hammering Republican committee chairman Devin Nunes for being the outrageously unprofessional congressman, not Schiff.
