In case you missed the premiere episode of Starz’s Now Apocalypse last week and tuned into the March 17 episode titled “Where’s My Mind?”, you may have been shocked to see a few scenes of graphic sex. Rest assured, this episode is looking rather tame compared to the aggressive first episode.
This show is not for anyone uncomfortable with in-your-face sex scenes. There is even a full-on oral sex scene during the first two minutes of this episode that takes the form of a recollection Ford Halstead (Beau Mirchoff) has as he talks to his roommate Ulysses "Uly" Zane (Avan Jogia) about his relationship with his girlfriend, Severine. Oral was one of the few kinds of sex we didn't see explicitly performed in the premiere.
The everything goes kind of sex continues, as the episode moves on, to a threesome between Ford, Severine, and Severine’s friend Daphne. Daphne and Severine met at an orgy. Also, Daphne is an ANTIFA protester. So, there’s that. Severine explains to a confused Ford that she wants to watch him and Daphne have sex. Reluctantly, Ford obliges and then he is quite enthusiastic. As they have sex, Severine sits next to them and masturbates. Then the busy protester has to leave because she and her boyfriends are setting Bank of America on fire later that night. Oh, did I mention that Daphne is proudly polyamorous? Yes. Yes, she is.
There was also an explicit sex scene between Uly's wanna-be actress friend/cam girl Carly (Kelli Berglund) and her boyfriend Jethro (Desmond Chiam). He stumbled across her box of sex toys as he was looking for condoms in her closet and she confessed to her love of role-playing as a dominatrix. And the sex scene that followed proved that point. Lovely.
Uly is still totally freaked-out about his discovery of an alien reptile raping a man in an alley. He explains what he thinks he saw to Carly who promptly dismisses his confession and tries to convince him it must have been a drug-induced dream.
Uly is obsessed with alien reptile conspiracies (no, really) now and uses his spare time on the Internet looking up information. Carly thinks he’s gone off the deep end and Uly tries to tell her that alien reptiles have invaded the government and society in general for decades now. A conspiracy kook that Uly uses as his expert on all things alien reptile, Mitchell Kent, tells his video watchers that Obama, Putin, Hitler, Queen Elizabeth, Bill Gates, and Beyonce are all Reptilian aliens who shape-shift though mind projection.
Mercifully, this is a half-hour show. No telling what will happen next week. Nothing is too graphic or too bizarre, that’s for sure.
