On Thursday's Fox and Friends, the show devoted more than six minutes to the case of a couple who refused advice to have an abortion after two different doctors claimed their baby had a terminal brain development condition.
It turned out that, after the mother, Ariann Corpstein, gave birth, they discovered that it was, in fact, a misdiagnosis, and the baby's condition is treatable.
At 8:24 a.m. Eastern, co-host Ainsley Earhardt set up an interview with the parents:
It is a parent's worst nightmare -- a mother is told that her unborn son has a terminal brain condition, but, despite doctors' urgings to terminate her pregnancy, Drew and Ariann Corpstein chose to put their faith in God's hands. And it is a good thing that they did because that newborn baby was born and is surviving now after it is revealed that he was misdiagnosed. That baby now known as "Miracle Matthew."
The two recalled their story of receiving a diagnosis from two different doctors who advised that their child's brain would not fully develop, but the pair chose to pray for a misdiagnosis and give birth anyway. It turned out that their baby had a more treatable brain condition and has a good chance of a healthy life.
Earhardt then informed viewers of the GoFundMe page for the new parents' medical expenses.
Fox and Friends had also highlighted the story on Wednesday during one of the show's news brief segments.
