In the wake of the Louisiana and Minnesota shootings, the media tell and retell the story of how black lives matter. But what about the police lives that also matter?
On this week’s Alli Kat Show, Newsbusters reporters Katie “Kat” Yoder and Alatheia “Alli” Nielsen tell the stories of the five officers who were murdered in Dallas last week; Brent Thompson, Patrick Zamarripa, Michael Krol, Michael Smith and Lorne Ahrens.
As Black Lives Matter activists continue to lash out against police, from falsely blaming them for all protest violence, to demanding the abolishment of the police force, Kat and Alli emphasize the importance of critical thinking and not demonizing “entire groups of people.”
“The way forward is through compassion...and by remembering that when most people flee danger, our brave, selfless law enforcement run straight at it,” Alli urged.
Kat closed with a plea from civil right leader Martin Luther King, Jr: “Hate cannot drive out hate: only love can do that.”
