Saturday Night Live star Kate McKinnon wants to reassure liberal America: She’s a big fan of Hillary Clinton. The comic who plays the Democrat on SNL appeared on NBC’s Today, Thursday, to describe Clinton as “wanting to do good.” Co-host Savannah Guthrie asked what the “essential quality you have to capture if you want to be Hillary Clinton?”
McKinnon responded, “A sense of wanting to do good and a sense of just trying and giving a speech.” The actress regularly tries to explain away her parodying of Clinton by praising the candidate. In May of 2015, she cheered Clinton as “resplendent” and touted, [I’m] rooting for her, obviously.”
In October of 2015, McKinnon fawned, “And for her, what I love is how badly she wants to fix the country, and I genuinely know that.”
In January of 2016, she enthused that Clinton is “literally a dreamboat.” The comedienne extolled, “She’s one of my favorite people.”
