Todd Akin may not know much about biology, but this week one Kossack sounded awfully uninformed herself on abortion and related issues. Another claimed that one of the major parties (hint: not the Democrats) is, in effect, pro-rape.

Kaili Joy Gray: GOP abortion extremism sickens America
...[T]he entire country is busy throwing up in its collective mouth at [the] Republican Party's pathological obsession with abortion...
...There is no such thing as taxpayer-funded abortion. There is no such thing as fetal pain...There is no such thing as sex-selective abortion. And there is no reason to require a woman to undergo and view an ultrasound before undergoing an abortion...
Kaili Joy Gray: Ryan is both pro-life and pro-death
...Ryan believes that abortion should be banned in all circumstances. He doesn't care if you've been raped. He doesn't care if your pregnancy is going to kill you. As long as the sacred fetus is protected, he really doesn't care what happens to the mother. And nothing is more "pro-life" than saying, "Eh, who cares if a woman dies?"...
Brainwrap: Republicans stand for violation
I'm sure you all remember the sickening, revolting case of Jamie Leigh Jones, the KBR contractor who was kidnapped, drugged, gang-raped, beaten and imprisoned by her co-workers overseas...
In the aftermath, a dark-humor (?) parody website, Republicans for Rape, went live...
Between the disgustingly intrusive anti-abortion laws being passed by numerous states of late, including the "state-mandated rape by vaginal probe" law passed by Virginia; the selection of Paul Ryan as Romney's running mate; the latest verbal atrocities by Todd Akin and Steve King; and, of course, the unveiling of the Romney-approved 2012 Republican National Convention Platform, which includes a call for a Constitutional Amendment outlawing abortion under ANY circumstances, with NO EXCEPTIONS for victims of rape, incest, or for the health of the mother...I think it's safe to say that the Republicans for Rape website is no longer even close to a parody.
It's now their official slogan...
chaunceydevega: The right fears Obama's superior masculinity
...While it is little discussed in the mainstream press, or among the pundit classes, I would argue that the New Right and the Tea Party GOP's anti-Obamamania is driven by a sense of imperiled white masculinity...
Ultimately, the fears of the New Right, the Tea Party GOP, and the aggrieved, imperiled white masculinity that Mitt Romney and other Republican elites pander to, are responses to a collective nightmare, what is a waking dream where they are being metaphorically raped and dominated by Barack Obama and people of color...
...For many conservatives, and especially aggrieved whites who are made insecure by the United States' changing demographics and a sense that America is not "their country" anymore, Obama is seen as pure evil--he is their anti-Christ...
...White reactionary conservatives may not state the following as plainly as I am willing to: The United States has long been the white man's country; the Tea Party GOP, as a White Party, are willing to do almost anything to regain this true lie and fictive past...
Charley James: The RNC, epicenter of ignorance
...When the GOP convention is gaveled to order, America will see the largest collection of anti-knowledge know-nothings to gather under one roof since Pope Urban VIII and his Inquisition minions met to condemn Galilei Galileo for writing that the earth revolved around the sun.
The platform that Republicans will endorse, and the Gekko-Galt - wait, I mean the Romney-Ryan ticket will campaign on, may well be the most regressive in American politics since before the Civil War...
