If you’re going to watch Sunday’s Oscars, be prepared for a tsunami of liberal rage, more so than the usual Academy Awards. The Hollywood Reporter on Thursday reported that actor Jack Black hailed actress Meryl Streep’s Golden Globes speech and lobbied for more at the Oscars: “I just hope she wins the Oscar and talks some more shit about that asshole.”
Weirdly, the actor called a liberal celebrity condemning a Republican president in front of other liberals brave, saying, “It took balls... I was very inspired by it.” Black somehow argued, “A lot of people say, 'Oh that's just liberals ... patting themselves on the back.' I don't agree.”
He continued, “To get up there and tell the truth about the president of the United States in front of a billion people — that takes courage and is very inspiring.”

Streep is nominated in the best actress category for her work in Florence Foster Jenkins, and Black noted that if she doesn't win, guests in the room should follow in her footsteps by speaking out against Trump. "To the winners in here, I hope you do the same, ya know?" he said, before launching into an electric version of one of his School of Rock hits. It was a performance that received a standing ovation.
In 2015, Black hailed MSNBC as his favorite network, saying he doesn’t like disagreement: “I get hot under the collar when...the people across the aisle start saying things that I think are uncalled for.”
