'Dr.' Jill Biden in PSA Says Wear Masks While Walking Dogs Outside (Media Gush Included)

February 7th, 2021 1:31 PM

Did you know that the renowned medical expert "Dr." Jill Biden is recommending that you wear a mask while walking dogs outside? There can be nobody within a hundred yards of you, but you must wear a mask according to "Dr." Jill in a Public Service Announcement she appeared in that will air on the Puppy Bowl on Animal Planet shortly before the Super Bowl.

Here is "Dr." Jill reaping the convenient political benefits provided by the Animal Planet of appearing to be a dog lover while giving dog owners what seems like absurdly hilarious medical advice.

Hi there, I’m Jill Biden here at the White House with our two dogs, Chip and Major.

For a lot of us during this pandemic, our pets have been such a source of joy and comfort. And, maybe a bark or two on a videoconference.

The unconditional love from a dog is one of the most beautiful things on earth and we owe it to them to keep ourselves healthy, so please keep wearing your mask, even when you’re out walking your dog. Right, guys?

Shouldn't the dogs also be wearing masks, "Dr." Jill? It would make about as much sense as the "settled science" of their owners wearing masks with nobody else around while outdoors.

But naturally, reporters like Maria Puente at USA Today are gushing about the Bidens having "canine cuties" that are "breakout video stars"! (They added helpful links included to their other breathless Biden PR items.)

No doubt about it, all signs are pointing to Champ and Major Biden as breakout video stars of the Biden administration.

Latest evidence: The first dogs and first lady Jill Biden are set to star in a wear-a-mask PSA for the always-appealing Puppy Bowl XVII, on Animal Planet and streaming on Discovery+ Sunday (2 EST/11 PST).

Call it a "unifying" public service ad for our times: It combines Americans' longstanding passion for dogs, their delight in the return of canine cuties to the White House and the massive TV audience on Super Bowl weekend with the first lady's ongoing efforts to promote the efficacy of face masks in the battle against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Also: All hail shelter dogs! As everyone knows, the puppies featured in the annual Puppy Bowl extravaganza come from shelters, as does Major Biden – the historic first shelter dog to reside in the White House.

The doggie-whisperers at MarketWatch.com even claimed "The Biden dogs beg you to wear your masks."
