Gee, maybe at times entertainers prefer to talk about entertainment rather than politics.
It seems that a BBC interviewer could have learned that lesson in a rather embarrassing way when he interviewed Lady Gaga and proceeded to ask her about the U.S. presidential race. As you can see below, Lady Gaga was rather reluctant to provide answers as the interviewer was forced to wait through long painful silences. The UK Daily Mail chronicled the pain endured by the interviewer Charlie Stayt:
She's famed for her carefree and spirited attitude.
But viewers were shocked to see Lady Gaga looking less animated than usual as she reluctantly answered questions about politics on Friday's episode of BBC Breakfast.
Chatting to Charlie Stayt, the 30-year-old songstress left the audience cringing when she announced she had 'nothing to say' in an interview littered with excruciating silences.
Perhaps Charlie should interview Madonna. She had plenty to say about what she would do for folks who voted for Hillary.
Whilst the Grammy singer appeared uncomfortable and disinterested, the presenter pushed even further, remarking: 'I’m intrigued that you literally won’t say anything about him…
'You have endorsed Hillary Clinton - What do you think that she will do that he will not?'
Whilst it initially appeared that Gaga was not going to answer the question, after an excruciating ten seconds of silence the Pokerface hitmaker sighed: 'I think she will do a good job.'
Just curious but do Daily Mail reporters earn bonuses based on the number of the times they use "whilst" in their stories? And now your humble correspondent has the sudden urge to interview a British entertainer on the subject of Brexit while peppering the report chock full of "whilsts."
