ABC's Good Morning America co-host Robin Roberts came out as gay Sunday.
She did so in a lengthy Facebook post commemorating the one year anniversary of her successfully surviving 100 days following her bone marrow transplant in 2012:
I am grateful to God, my doctors and nurses for my restored good health.
I am grateful for my sister, Sally-Ann, for being my donor and giving me the gift of life.
I am grateful for my entire family, my long time girlfriend, Amber, and friends as we prepare to celebrate a glorious new year together.
According to The Wrap, "Roberts’ sexuality had been known to her family, friends and co-workers for some time."
Makes you wonder if the President was also aware of this and that aided in his decision to give Roberts an exclusive interview in May 2012 wherein he famously flip-flopped on his position on gay marriage saying, "At a certain point, I've just concluded that - for me personally, it is important for me to go ahead and affirm that - I think same-sex couples should be able to get married."
The following day as Roberts discussed this part of the interview with co-host George Stephanopoulos, she said, "I'm getting chills again."
Later in the year, much of the GMA crew repeatedly celebrated the marriage of former weatherman Sam Champion to longtime partner Rubem Robierb.
