As the Dow Jones Industrial Average makes a new high every day, the value of Keith Olbermann's stock continues to plummet.
According to Dylan Byers at Politico, the former MSNBC blowhard "spent last fall talking to all the major networks, and he couldn't get a job."
As NewsBusters reported Thursday, Olbermann settled his lawsuit with former employer Current TV for $5 million.
Sources told Politico that his inability to find employment was cited during mediation as an attempt to gain sympathy.
"One of the cards his people played was hardship," the source, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, told POLITICO. "He spent last fall talking to all the major networks, and he couldn't get a job. The idea was, this could be the last money he ever earned."
Apparently, Olbermann approached numerous broadcast news channels and cable outlets including ABC, AMC, and ESPN.
"No one would hire him, and that became a negotiating ploy," one source told Politico.
All together now: awwwwww.
