Oil tycoon T. Boone Pickens wants President Obama to explain to him what his "fair share" of taxes is.
Such was discussed on MSNBC's Morning Joe Wednesday (video follows with transcribed highlights):
“The president is confusing me. Every time he’s on TV, he says that the rich should pay their fair share,” Pickens told those in attendance.
Co-host Mika Brzezinski asked, “What’s wrong with that?”
“Historically I’ve been a very fair guy,” he continued. “I’m 83, I still go to work in the morning at 8 o’clock. I have 150 people working for me. Some place in here I feel like I’m letting my country down, and so I need to know what they want.”
Brzezinski countered, “Well, we could start with taxes.”
Pickens replied, “After I was 70 years old, I paid $665 million in taxes. Is that fair?”
