The View Attacks Americans Fretting Inflation Instead of Helping Dems

ABC “News” product, The View felt like giving an in-kind donation to the Democratic Party on Friday as they demanded that people support the left so they can keep the January 6 Committee going. Wealthy co-host Joy Behar was irritated that ignorant Americans were worried about insignificant things like “inflation,” “this,” and “that” instead of wanting to help Democrats. She also badgered ABC’s political director to confront voters on the street about it and pressure them on why they’re voting Republican.

Racist Sunny Hostin clearly spelled out why they needed the show to be a Democrat megaphone: to protect the January 6 Committee from getting shuttered. “They only disband the committee if Republicans win the House. What we need to make sure is that committee is not disbanded because there's so much we need to know,” she howled.

After some pearl-clutching about the Department of Justice and Attorney General Merrick Garland possibly not indicting former President Trump, Hostin added: “This midterm election is not about the presidency. It partially is, but this is about the House and the Senate. We need – Democrats need to keep the House and Senate.”

“But it would be historical if Democrats maintain power – just because of how power flips in between,” co-host Sara Haines countered. “Yeah, and it's a new time in our – new day. It’s a different time,” Hostin shot back.

Behar’s response to that exchange was to catch an attitude with Americans who are not as well-off as she is and who aren’t protected from rising prices by vast wealth. “Yeah, but people are worried about inflation in this country,” she scoffed in annoyance and attacked their intelligence. “And they don’t realize – a lot of people don't realize inflation comes and goes.”

Despite the fact markets have been generally trending downward under President Biden, she inexplicably touted: “I've seen inflation up and I've seen the stock market up even though inflation is up. I mean, it’s crazy.”

Struggling to find the word “fluctuate,” she started flailing her arm around until the rest of the cast threw her a lifeline:

BEHAR: That sort of stuff – Uh, what's the word? [Waves her hand up and down]

HOSTIN: It fluctuates.

HAINES: Fluctuates.

BEHAR: [The economy] fluctuates. But democracy does not fluctuate. You can lose it like that. [Snaps fingers]

Later in the show, they brought on ABC political director Rick Klein to promote George Stephanopoulos’s new docuseries Power Trip. Behar badgered him and seemed to suggest their team of reporters wasn’t doing a good job.

“When your reporters say, you know, ‘they tell me, they're worried about gas, they’re worried this, they’re worried about that.’ Do the reporters follow up and say, ‘do you think the Republicans will be able to fix these things?’” she demanded to know.

Klein said they weren’t “looking to have arguments with voters” but Behar was definitely looking to have one with him. “It's a follow-up question. It’s not an argument,” she continued to push.

And the conversation seemed to hit a nerve as Behar insisted that ABC reporters bully Americans who support Republicans. “It's not an argument. It's a follow-up question. How do you think the other party will solve these problems? Because they have nothing! I've seen nothing!” she exclaimed. “What’s the agenda? What is the agenda?” Hostin agreed.

Trying to keep things from getting out of hand, Klein threw out some quips about bringing Behar on the road with them. “Do you want a job? We'll send you out there right now, Joy … Seriously. You’ve got a permanent invitation from the team,” he said. “We need to give Joy a cameo on the road,” co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin added.

But again proving why she’s a faux conservative, Farah Griffin suggested that the only way for Republicans to flip the House was with “a lot of gerrymandered districts.”

This naked contempt for struggling American voters was made possible because of lucrative sponsorships from Nature’s Bounty and Liberty Mutual. Their contact information is linked.

SUNNY HOSTIN: I disagree with Ana in the sense that, okay, it's going to be over in November if they disband the committee. They only disband the committee if Republicans win the House. What we need to make sure is that committee is not disbanded because there's so much we need to know.

ANA NAVARRO: A bunch of the members of that committee, Republicans and Democrats aren't going to be there. So, all of the testimony that they've reviewed -- listen. Stephanie Murphy from Florida, a Democrat, not retiring.

HOSTIN: Liz Cheney.

NAVARRO: Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger.

HOSTIN: It doesn’t mean it dissolves though.

ALYSSA FARAH GRIFFIN: Accountability in not really going to come from the committee. It's going to come from the Department of Justice and the voting booth.

HOSTIN: With a criminal referral from the committee.

[Crosstalk]

FARAH GRIFFIN: And by the way, there are some of us – I'm on the side of, like, I'm still skeptical that DOJ is going to indict him. I think they have the case. I think he deserves to be in a jump suit. But if that doesn't happen, the next way that we protect our democracy is making sure he's not president again.

JOY BEHAR: I thought Merrick Garland – But Merrick Garland said no one's above the law.

HOSTIN: But also, this midterm election is not about the presidency. It partially is, but this is about the House and the Senate. We need – Democrats need to keep the House and Senate.

SARA HAINES: But it would be historical if Democrats maintain power – just because of how power flips in between.

HOSTIN: Yeah, and it's a new time in our – new day. It’s a different time.

[Crosstalk]

BEHAR: Yeah, but people are worried about inflation in this country. And they don’t realize – a lot of people don't realize inflation comes and goes. I have been here a long time. We saw that this week with my birthday. Hello? I've seen inflation up and I've seen the stock market up even though inflation is up. I mean, it’s crazy. That sort of stuff – Uh, what's the word? [Waves her hand up and down]

HOSTIN: It fluctuates.

HAINES: Fluctuates.

BEHAR: It fluctuates. But democracy does not fluctuate. You can lose it like that. [Snaps fingers]

BEHAR: Let me ask you something. When your reporters – hold on one second. When your reporters say, you know, ‘they tell me, they're worried about gas, they’re worried this, they’re worried about that.’ Do the reporters follow up and say, “do you think the Republicans will be able to fix these things?”

RICK KLEIN: We're not looking to have arguments with voters. But we do want to know where –

BEHAR: It's a follow-up question. It’s not an argument.

NAVARRO: Joy wants to be sent!

KLEIN: Do you want a job? We'll send you out there right now, Joy.

BEHAR: It's not an argument.

KLEIN: I get you.

BEHAR: It's a follow-up question. How do you think the other party will solve these problems?

KLEIN: Sure. I think –

BEHAR: Because they have nothing! I've seen nothing!

HOSTIN: What’s the agenda? What is the agenda?

FARAH GRIFFIN: We need to give Joy a cameo on the road.

KLEIN: Seriously. You’ve got a permanent invitation from the team.

HOSTIN: Or just, what is the Republican agenda and how does that address your concerns?

KLEIN Sure.
