On this episode of the NewsBusters Podcast, I and White House briefing scribe Curtis Houck are hanging around to discuss the liberal media’s open disdain for average Americans as they scoff at those struggling to make ends meet because of inflation, with one even suggesting people were lying about their struggles.
I was fired up by NBC business correspondent Stephanie Ruhle who claimed on Sunday that the “dirty little secret” Americans were keeping was that they could afford inflationary costs just fine. Claiming she was putting inflation “in perspective,” Ruhle asserted “And the dirty little secret here, Willie [Geist], while nobody likes to pay more, on average we have the money to do so.”
And According to her, “Household savings hit a record high over the pandemic. We didn't have anywhere to go out and spend. And as we said a moment ago, we're expecting retail sales this holiday season to break records.”
Listen as we takedown her ridiculous argument piece by piece.
We also have some fun by looking at the charity auction for Homes for Our Troops coordinated with CNN anchor Jake Tapper, a truly worthy cause. And we look at how much some people were willing to pay for 30-minute Zoom calls with media types.
