Bozell: ‘Troubled Times’ as Journalists Protect Hillary With ‘Bias By Omission’

April 6th, 2016 10:54 AM

Media Research Center President Brent Bozell appeared on Varney and Company, Wednesday, to analyze Hillary Clinton’s struggling presidential campaign. Host Stuart Varney noted that Clinton, who has lost seven of the last eight primaries or caucuses, still “has the support of the media.”

Bozell explained, “It's troubled times for her. They [journalists] have been helping her through the politics of bias by omission where they’re not covering the scandals. But it's her personality, not the scandal, that’s hurting her.”

Indeed, despite Clinton’s problems, the networks on Tuesday were still spinning her lead as “insurmountable.”

Bozell noted, “Here is the problem with Hillary: And you saw it in 2008. you saw it on the book tour. The more you saw her, the less you like her. And she started this campaign hiding.”

STUART VARNEY: To you first, Brent. Big loss to Hillary. Now, she has the support of the media how come she lost by 13 points?

BRENT BOZELL: Here is the problem with Hillary: And you saw it in 2008. you saw it on the book tour. The more you saw her, the less you like her. And she started this campaign hiding.

VARNEY: You’re nasty, Brent. You’re a nasty guy.

BOZELL: It's true. It’s true. She didn't show her face until she was eating at Chipotle and that kind of thing. But now, she has to campaign because of Bernie. So, it's troubled times for her. They have been helping her through the politics of bias by omission where they’re not covering the scandals. But it's her personality not the scandal that’s hurting her.
