Supporters of Republican presidential frontrunner Donald Trump are used to being criticized whether it be their own party or Democrats. One charge often hurled at them is that Trump supporters are racist. But a new Fox news poll on the 2016 presidential election should put that claim to rest.
Currently the poll finds the New York real-estate developer is still on top with 26 percent of voters, followed by retired neurosurgeon Dr. Ben Carson at 18 percent, businesswoman Carly Fiorina and Florida U.S. Senator Marco Rubio tied for third place. Many voters are tired of politicians and that is why “outsider” candidates such as Trump and Carson are in the lead. Part of Trump’s appeal is his shoot from the hip style of speaking – he’s not one to mince words.
Fox’s poll found that 65 percent of GOP primary voters like this characteristic while 35 percent found Trump to be “too mean and blunt” to be president.
When asked if Trump were to exit the race and to name their second candidate of choice, the Fox poll showed GOP primary voters would flock to Carson (24 percent), a black man; Rubio (12 percent), a Hispanic; Fiorina (11 percent), the only woman in the race on the GOP side; Cruz (11 percent), also Hispanic; and Bush (10 percent), who is white and married to a Mexican-born woman. When Trump supporters were asked the same question, their second choice would be Carson (23 percent), Bush (14 percent), Cruz (12 percent) and Rubio (10 percent).
It’s easy to see that the two Hispanic candidates and African-American man would get almost half of the Trump vote – if Trump left the race. If Trump supporters were truly a racist bunch, it’s highly unlikely they would have given their vote to a minority candidate.
As a matter of fact, Trump has quite a number of minority supporters backing his presidency. Survey USA recently released a poll that showed Trump accumulated 20+ points over Democratic presidential frontrunner Hilary Clinton. We didn’t hear about that in the news because it didn’t fit the perception of racist Trump voters.
Once again, the liberal media shows it bias.
