ABC's Karl Complains to Youngkin That GOP Congress Will Impeach Biden

November 6th, 2022 11:13 AM

Proving once again that phony reporters like ABC’s Jon Karl have no self awareness at all, Karl continually harassed Virginia Republican Governor Glenn Youngkin during his interview on Sunday’s This Week by complaining that Republicans will hold hearings on Hunter Biden’s corruption and lead an effort to impeach Joe Biden and prominent members of his administration. This is ironic since Karl seemed to have no problem with Democrats impeaching former President Donald Trump, not once but twice.

“I'm hearing a lot, though, of talk about investigations, investigations into Hunter Biden, FBI, all things Anthony Fauci, Republicans talking about going, you know, all in if they take control of particularly the House,” Karl whined.

“Is that really what you're campaigning on to have massive investigations?” Karl asked.

Attempting to use the left’s “democracy” talking points against them, Youngkin responded that “our democracy is better when our Congress exercises its responsibility for oversight and they can also deliver answers.”

Clearly triggered by that response as well as the possibility of Republicans impeaching Biden and his cabinet, Karl wailed: “What about all this impeachment talk?”

“I can count at least three members of the Biden cabinet that Republicans have talked about impeaching and obviously there have already been impeachment resolutions introduced, many of them for Biden himself,” Karl said with dread.

Repeating the answer he gave before, Youngkin reiterated: “I believe strongly our democracy is better when our Congress exercises its oversight functions.”

“Impeachment?” Karl responded with shock.

He then asked Youngkin if he believed “common sense kitchen table issues” that the Governor has been campaigning on “is what voters have in mind” when talk turns to “impeaching Joe Biden.”

Youngkin tried to answer Karl honestly but he kept pouncing:

YOUNGKIN: You know, I don't know -- I don't know if --

KARL: Would that be a mistake is all I'm asking.

YOUNGKIN: I can't speculate on what they're going to do. What I can tell you –

KARL: What they should do is what I'm asking.

YOUNGKIN: Is they have done—well, I'm a Governor.

KARL: I know but you're campaigning --

YOUNGKIN: My job as Governor in Virginia is to deliver for Virginians and, oh, by the way, I think Republicans offer answers that Democrats have failed to offer over and over and over again.

It’s extremely hypocritical that Karl or anyone in the leftist media would criticize Republicans of distracting from “ kitchen table issues” in favor of impeachment when that is what Democrats did twice. They even impeached Trump during a worldwide pandemic.

Leftists like Karl have no ground to stand on this issue.

JON KARL: I'm hearing a lot, though, of talk about investigations, investigations into Hunter Biden, FBI, all things Anthony Fauci, Republicans talking about going, you know, all in if they take control of particularly the House. Is that really what you're campaigning on to have massive investigations into all—

GOVERNOR GLENN YOUNGKIN: I think that the House and the Senate and the White House are going to have to go to work and offer solutions. On top of that, our democracy is better when our Congress exercises its responsibility for oversight and they can also deliver answers. I think voters are going to make a statement on Tuesday and they want their elected leaders to deliver results.

KARL: What about all this impeachment talk? I mean, I've gone through -- I can count at least three members of the Biden cabinet that Republicans have talked about impeaching and obviously there have already been impeachment resolutions introduced, many of them for Biden himself. Would that be a mistake for Republicans to go in with?

YOUNGKIN: Again, I believe strongly our democracy is better when our Congress exercises its oversight functions.

KARL: Impeachment?

YOUNGKIN: The reality of this is Virginians are gonna vote for congressional representatives and I think that we're going to see a number of seats flip and they want them to go to work to deliver.

KARL: But let me press you on that, though, common sense kitchen table issues, that's what you've been talking about. Is that what voters have in mind impeaching Joe Biden? I'm hearing that a lot.
