Chuck Todd Shocked by Harris Claim That The Border Is Secure

On Sunday’s Meet the Press, viewers learned that there are indeed Democrat lies so preposterous even Chuck Todd won’t fall for them. During his exclusive interview with Vice President Kamala Harris, Todd appeared flabbergasted by Harris’s claim that the southern border is secure.

Towards the end of a wide ranging interview that touched on topics from the 2022 midterms to abortion, Todd asked Harris about the ongoing crisis at the southern border in which a record number of illegals have been crossing over into the United States.

“I want to ask you about the border. Would you call the border secure?” Todd asked Harris. The Vice President didn’t immediately answer the question. Instead she rambled about how “we have to do what the President and I asked the Congress to do.”

This includes passing “a bill to create a pathway to citizenship,” which in plain english means amnesty for the millions of illegals who invaded our country.

Finally getting around to answering Todd’s question, Harris falsely claimed “the border is secure, but we also have a broken immigration system, in particular over the last four years before we came in, and it needs to be fixed.”

That lie was so obviously false that even Todd didn’t fall for it. He appeared stunned, asking: “we’re going to have 2 million people cross this border for the first time ever. You're confident this border is secure?”

“We have a secure border in that that is a priority for any nation, including ours and our administration but there are still a lot of problems that we are trying to fix,” Harris rambled incoherently. “Given the deterioration that happened over the last four years.”

Harris doubled down on her plea for rewarding illegal behavior with amnesty: “We also have to put in place a law and a plan for a pathway for citizenship for the millions of people who are here and are prepared to do what is legally required to gain citizenship.”

What she fails to understand is that illegal immigrants aren’t “prepared to do what is legally required to gain citizenship.” If they were, they would’ve come to the United States the right way. Todd didn’t call Harris out on that obvious contradiction.

Harris ended by whining that at one time it was a bipartisan consensus that America needed amnesty for illegals.

CHUCK TODD: I want to ask you about the border. Would you call the border secure?

KAMALA HARRIS: I think that there is no question that we have to do what the President and I asked the Congress to do. The first request we made, pass a bill to create a pathway to citizenship. The border is secure, but we also have a broken immigration system, in particular over the last four years before we came in, and it needs to be fixed.

TODD: We’re going to have 2 million people cross this border for the first time ever. You're confident this border is secure?

HARRIS: We have a secure border in that that is a priority for any nation, including ours and our administration but there are still a lot of problems that we are trying to fix. Given the deterioration that happened over the last four years.

We also have to put in place a law and a plan for a pathway for citizenship for the millions of people who are here and are prepared to do what is legally required to gain citizenship we don't have that in place because people are playing politics in a state like this and in Congress -- by the way, you want to talk about bipartisanship, on an issue that at one time was a bipartisan issue. Both in terms of Republican Senators and even Presidents.
