We Have a Winner! Most Inane 'Human Mic' Footage Yet, Courtesy of Rachel Maddow

A much-trumpeted "innovation" from Occupy footstompers is the so-called "human mic" whereby people in a crowd parrot the words of a designated non-leader to amplify his or her message.

Examples of this creepy phenomenon abound, including this one helpfully provided by Occupy cultist Rachel Maddow on her MSNBC show last night (video clip after page break) --

MADDOW: The human mic is an Occucy Wall Street innovation. In the absence of a microphone it's a means of communicating to a large group of people.

UNIDENTIFIED OCCUPY SPEAKER: Mic check!

PROTESTERS: Mic check! (echoed by second group of protesters) Mic check!

SPEAKER: We amplify each other's voices!

PROTESTERS: We amplify each other's voices! ... We amplify each other's voices!

SPEAKER: No matter what's said!

PROTESTERS: No matter what's said! ... No matter what's said!

SPEAKER: So we can hear one another!

PROTESTERS: So we can hear one another!

Unfortunately for Maddow's viewers, that was all she showed from this specific example of the human mic at work. Fortunately for NewsBusters readers, I have obtained a transcript of the remaining echo chamber discourse cited here. Consider yourself forewarned: this might be a parody, though it's hard to tell --

SPEAKER: Once again, we amplify each other's voices!

PROTESTERS: Once again, we amplify each other's voices!

SPEAKER: No matter what's said!

PROTESTERS: No matter what's said!

SPEAKER: No matter how drug-addled, insipid or insane!

PROTESTERS: No matter how drug-addled, insipid or insane!

SPEAKER: Providing it complies with all speech codes!

PROTESTERS: Providing it complies with all speech codes!

SPEAKER: Regardless of who says it!

PROTESTERS: Regardless of who says it!

SPEAKER: Unless it's some old white guy who works on Wall Street!

PROTESTERS: Unless it's some old white guy who works on Wall Street!

SPEAKER: Or Sarah Palin!

PROTESTERS: Or Sarah Palin!

SPEAKER: In which case we rethink our opposition to capital punishment!

PROTESTERS: In which case we rethink our opposition to capital punishment!

SPEAKER: For thought criminals!

PROTESTERS: For thought criminals!

SPEAKER: And their corporate lackeys at Fox News!

PROTESTERS: And their corporate lackeys at Fox News!

SPEAKER: Who can't be allowed to say whatever they want on the people's airwaves!

PROTESTERS: Who can't be allowed to say whatever they want on the people's airwaves!

SPEAKER: No matter what they say!

PROTESTERS: No matter what they say!

SPEAKER: This is what democracy looks like!

PROTESTERS: This is what democracy looks like!

SPEAKER: Good gosh, have we missed lunch?!

PROTESTERS: Good gosh, what did he say?!

Maddow also talked the human mic being used by protesters to interrupt speeches by Ron Paul, Michelle Bachmann and Karl Rove, as well as President Obama that day in New Hampshire. After airing footage of Obama's interrupted remarks, Maddow also showed a news photo that included one of the protesters handing Obama a note --

MADDOW: A close-up shot of that note shows that it's the script that the human mic interruption protesters were trying to use when they interrupted the president's speech in New Hampshire today. You have this guy essentially delivering a confrontational message to the president of the United States, but look at this, this is an amazing photo. Look at the look on the kid's face and look at the looks on the faces of the people around him up that close with the president. It's kind of an amazing campaign shot from that AP photographer, his name is Charles Dharapak. This is one of those ones that probably goes into the awards' short lists.

Unmentioned by Maddow what was the close-up of the note revealed. Among its contents was this demand -- "You must stop the assault on our 1st ammendment rights."

Seeing how Maddow once insisted the Constitution has no preamble, maybe she didn't notice.
