NATIONAL HARBOR, Md. — Addressing a boisterous and energized crowd on Thursday morning at CPAC, Vice President Mike Pence revisited the Trump administration’s successes in 2018 and addressed head-on the liberal media’s love affair during the Winter Olympics with the murderous North Korean diplomat Kim Yo-jong, a member of the regime’s “evil family clique.”
This marked Pence’s most extensive comments to date on the matter since he led the United States delegation for the February 9 Opening Ceremonies and infamously ended up sitting in front of Kim Yo-jong. Naturally, the media castigated Pence and treated him as if he were the authoritarian and not Ms. Kim.
“Two weeks ago, I was honored to lead the official delegation to the opening ceremonies of the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, where we cheered on Team USA. But as you all know, many in the mainstream media seemed quite taken with another dignitary,” Pence stated to a smattering of laughter and boos.
Pence continued by noting that “for all the media fawning over the sister of the North Korean dictator, I think it is important that every American knows who this person is and what she’s done” as the head of propaganda for the hermit regime. The Vice President dubbed her “a central pillar of the most radical and oppressive regime on the planet.”
Continuing to demolish the media’s Barack Obama-like fetish for the North Korean leader’s sister, Pence described the Kim family as “[a]n evil family clique that brutalizes, subjugates, starves and imprisons its 25 million people” and she’s even been sanctioned by the United States for her role in the country’s worst atrocities.
With the crowd as silent as the Potomac Ballroom was all day, Pence declared:
People are routinely jailed and executed for minor acts of defiance and every American remembers the heartbreaking story of Otto Warmbier. So, for all those in the media who think I should have stood and cheered with the North Koreans, I say, the United States of America does not stand with murderous dictatorships, we stand up to murderous dictatorships.
Earlier that morning, NRA spokeswoman and conservative leader Dana Loesch was given more than a few moments to speak (compared to Wednesday’s CNN Town Hall). Later in the afternoon, Republican Senator Ted Cruz (Tex.) and The Federalist’s Ben Domenech poked fun at CNN’s Chris Cuomo with Cruz characterizing the Democratic Party as the party of Lisa Simpson.

11:07 a.m. EasternVICE PRESIDENT MIKE PENCE: And in the wake of provocations and threats against the United States and our allies, we have made it clear to North Korea that the era of strategic patience is over. [APPLAUSE]
Two weeks ago, I was honored to lead the official delegation to the opening ceremonies of the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, where we cheered on Team USA. But as you all know, many in the mainstream media seemed quite taken with another dignitary. [LAUGHTER] [BOOING] You know, for all the media fawning over the sister of the North Korean dictator, I think it is important that every American knows who this person is and what she’s done. The sister of Kim Jong-un is a central pillar of the most radical and oppressive regime on the planet. An evil family clique that brutalizes, subjugates, starves and imprisons its 25 million people. Even the United Nations reported that the gravity, scale, and nature of these violations reveals a nation that does not have a parallel in the contemporary world.
That is why the United State government has sanctioned her for her role in abetting North Korea's human right abuses and crimes against humanity. [CHEERS AND APPLAUSE]
And we will keep standing strong until North Korea stops threatening our country, our allies, or until they abandon their nuclear and ballistic missile once and for all! So, in this White House, it is about strength. It is about growth for our nation and it is working. America is more secure and our economy is booming.
