On Tuesday’s MSNBC Live with Katy Tur, Congresswoman Jackie Speier (D-Calif.) expressed her “concern” that the President “is systematically trying to shut down every possible branch of government but the Presidency.”
Of course, host Katy Tur made no effort to push back on Speier’s ridiculous comments. Considering her record, it's no surprise she gave her implicit support for Speier's ludicruous claims.
She continued: “This is the conduct of someone who could become a tyrant if we don't step in and speak out against him. I think he is being so unpresidential and he is undermining the very foundation of this country and the institutions that we hold so dear and that are protected in the Constitution of the United States.”
Obviously, President Trump has done nothing to “shut down” other branches of the government, nor has he done anything to suggest he is seizing power to become a “tyrant.” In fact, many of his policies have reduced the burden of government. Furthermore, criticizing other departments and branches is not in any way the same as shutting them down. Nor is it a sign that he is trying to.
Interestingly enough, the California Congresswoman had no problem when President Obama was rolling over the Constitution with his ‘pen and phone.’ It is strange how liberals have suddenly rediscovered their love for the Consitution.

KATY TUR: Are you concerned or is there a concern that he might be trying to witness tamper?
REP. JACKIE SPEIER (D-CA): I am concerned that the President of the United States is systematically trying to shut down every possible branch of government but the Presidency. You have him attacking the judiciary, the CIA, the Department of Justice, the FBI. I mean this is the conduct of someone who could become a tyrant if we don't step in and speak out against him. I think he is being so unpresidential and he is undermining the very foundation of this country and the institutions that we hold so dear and that are protected in the Constitution of the United States.
TUR: You have a Republican colleague named Louie Gohmert who was talking about the FBI, talking about Deputy Director Andrew McCabe and his reported retirement this morning…
