Why? Amy Schumer's Unfunny Show Making a Comeback, Comedienne Predicts ‘Trump’s Probably Going to be Back’

In 2016, Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) victim Amy Schumer was so depressed by Trump becoming president that she could no longer go on with her Comedy Central show, Inside Amy Schumer, despite it being renewed for a fifth season.

“With Trump being a president, I was too depressed and just didn’t feel like I had anything helpful to say,” Schumer told The Hollywood Reporter (THR) at the time.

Now that she’s had some time to rest, recover, and heal from her TDS, Schumer accepted an offer from Paramount + to bring the show back, jokingly posting on her Twitter account that her goal is to “burn any remaining bridges.”

Inside Amy Schumer will begin streaming on October 20, but, if Schumer couldn’t go on with the show before because she was too depressed over Trump, she may have foreshadowed another downfall by predicting Trump’s return.

“Now, of course, Trump’s probably going to be back and we’re losing our rights, but I feel like I need it,” Schumer said, according to THR. “Because I have these very specific things that I want to express and also [I want to] make something funny.”

THR revealed that Schumer plans to “point out hypocrisy — her own and others — and to comment on what she calls ‘the deep racism and white privilege and guilt’ that exists.” Sounds both hilarious and fun!

Schumer offered one last tease about the revival to THR, stating, “You won’t want to miss the show that will finally get me forever canceled.”
