Brian Kilmeade: ‘Major Blow to Biden’s Green Agenda’

President Joe Biden came in for some heavy criticism when a green project his administration bragged about sank beneath the waves. At least two Fox News hosts and a president of a pro-energy company.

Fox and Friends co-host Brian Kilmeade noted on Jan. 5 that the failure of a massive wind farm project off the coast of New York was not only a setback for the president’s green agenda but reportedly a sign of a flailing Biden economy as well. Kilmeade said, “In a major blow to Joe Biden's green agenda, a wind project off the coast of New York, near us, has been canceled by developers and seemingly his very own Bidenomics were to blame. Energy developers, Equinor and BP say the project was scrapped due to inflation, interest rates and supply chain disruptions.”

This decision frustrates plans by both the Biden administration and the state of New York, which put in place a mandate to draw 70% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2030.

According to Committee for a Constructive Tomorrow President Craig Rucker, this blow to Biden’s agenda is not isolated. “The winds of ill-fortune are blowing hard against Biden's offshore energy agenda. Of course, he wanted to put in about 30,000 megawatts of offshore wind by the year 2030. But what happened yesterday is indicative of what has been happening in recent months.,” Rucker said. “We had another wind company bailout of the vineyard wind projects up in–Massachusetts. We had another one in New Jersey just recently. Ørsted bailed from New Jersey–angering [Gov.] Phil Murphy and many others. They are blaming, of course, high-interest rates, inflation and supply chain issues.” Rucker went on to note that local opposition to the construction also played a role in the project’s cancellation.

Fox News host and former Rep.Sean Duffy also mocked the Biden administration over the project which “the administration was championing as proof of Bidenomics’ success” on The Bottom Line Jan. 4.

Last month, Fox Business host Stuart Varney offered some advice that might benefit President Biden today. “You face a short-term crunch where they’re gonna get rid of all these coal-fired plants. Where does the electricity come from if it's not from coal? Where are we going to get it from? The president says, ‘We can get it from solar and wind.’ They actually said that just a couple of weeks ago,” said Varney before speaking to Biden, “Dream on, Mr. President! Dream on!”
