When legendary conservative radio host Rush Limbaugh was warning Americans in 2017 about the dangerous, leftist trend of education in America, the shadowy specter of artificial intelligence was also tacitly on his radar.
On March 28th, Limbaugh argued during his show that conservatives ought to stay focused on a different type of artificial intelligence: the robotic left created by leftist propaganda and our educational system. Limbaugh said, “My point is, don’t worry about AI, don’t worry about Siri taking control of your car and driving you off a cliff. Don’t worry about any of that. Worry about the artificial intelligence, the artificial education, and the mind-numbed robots that American education is creating today.”

As a May 2023 report from the Office of Educational Technology points out, “Educators recognize that AI can automatically produce output that is inappropriate or wrong. They are wary that the associations or automations created by AI may amplify unwanted biases.” Despite this, many teachers are already using artificial intelligence to write end of year reports and large percentages of college students admit to using ChatGPT to help with their homework. Meanwhile, according to Forbes, some educators warned that the risks of using AI in education were, “more severe than any threat that has ever faced schools.”
Taken together, this means that while educators and a government department sound the alarm on the risks of AI, some students are turning to AI to do their thinking for them.
Limbaugh didn’t mince words about the state of students coming out from the cesspools of leftist academia, which in retrospect is only going to be exacerbated with the explosion of powerful AI technology:
“They think they know everything. They think they’re smarter than you are. They think you’re stupid to boot, in addition to them being smart. They’re smug and they are condescending. But they don’t know anything. They have not been taught anything. They have been indoctrinated,” Rush rebuked. He continued: “They have been propagandized and it’s fascinating to watch. And that’s artificial intelligence. These people are the genuine robots in our society today. These either mind-numbed robots that American education has been churning out, in the case of Millennials, since day care.”
In the present, the artificial intelligence industry specifically is poised to make the situation much worse. OpenAI’s ChatGPT, for example, has a demonstrable leftist bias and will only serve to reassure the “robots” Limbaugh criticized, while indoctrinating many Americans with the same propaganda on a greater scale.
Several disturbing revelations during the May 16th OpenAI congressional hearing suggest that ChatGPT will ultimately be extremely effective at indoctrinating Americans. During the hearing, CEO Sam Altman explicitly stated that he feared the dangers of AI if it continues to get more advanced. “My worst fears are that we cause significant — we the field, the technology, the industry — cause significant harm to the world,” Altman said. No kidding.
