Bill Maher Knows More About What’s Going on in Iraq Than Our Troops

HBO’s Bill Maher is quickly becoming a walking billboard for the concept that hate is blinding.

In a blog published at the Huffington Post Wednesday, Maher actually implied that he knows more -- from his residence in Southern California -- about what’s going on in Iraq than America’s troops that are risking their lives there (emphasis added throughout):

Since this war began the number of soldiers in Iraq who think Saddam Hussein was responsible for 9/11 has stunned us all. We continue to be surprised by the number of troops over there who still think we're winning, convinced we're doing good, and that if America pulls out they will follow us home.

Well, Bill, if this is what the troops on the ground are saying, shouldn’t we listen to them? Apparently not:

Story Continues Below Ad ↓

The military sent to Iraq some of the most educated soldiers in a generation. More have high school degrees than those who served in Vietnam.

But that doesn't mean they know anything.

Can you imagine the gall and the arrogance it takes to be so pompous and full of oneself to actually put in writing that you have a better idea of what’s going on in a country than those that are currently there?

Clearly, this man’s hatred of the administration, and disdain for this war have become so blinding that he has lost any contact with sanity concerning the matter:

It's become obvious that the job of the Bush military is to keep our soldiers on a "need to know" state of alert.

Which is why on Friday the Pentagon announced that soldiers serving in Iraq and Afghanistan would no longer be able to use military computers to access You Tube [sic], My Space [sic] and eleven other popular websites.

Do soldiers deserve the truth? Or does that weaken them as soldiers?

And this, ladies and gentlemen, represents the real level of the blindness: Maher actually believes that the truth about this war -- or anything for that matter -- is on display at YouTube and MySpace.

Makes you wonder what color the sky is in his world, doesn’t it?

I have now replaced my favorite "F" word curse with: Maher.

He once questioned (compared) this nation's bravery for firing off a few missiles to the bravery of the 9-11 hijackers for staying on the planes as they were flown into the buildings (BTW< I do recall hearing not ALL the hijackers that day knew exactly what the `mission' was on the planes ... some actually believed it was to be a hijacking/hostage situation.)

Anyhow, I would pay good money to see this mahering basturd say the things he blogged right to the faces of the troops. Be a hell of a lot more than a mahering sting ray barb sticking out of his mahering chest ...

If I recall correctly, they were part of a suicide squad, even if they didn't know what the day's mission was.

I would also love to see the maher-effer face the troops he denigrates.

Michelin Man

Good point. This lowlife should take his show on the road like O’ Reilly did. Sit down with the troops, interview them, ask them serious, though provoking questions and show us what they think.

Can’t you just see the spectacle?? That coward standing there with two flack jackets under a bomb suit looking like the Michelin Man trying to corner the troops into saying something against the effort?

This mahering imbecile doesnt have the balls (or ovaries?) to actually face the troops. And besides, if it did, it would probably say something along the lines of "Thanks for protecting my freedom to talk rosieodonut on you". Pathetic.

I mean, how can Bill Maher lo

I mean, how can Bill Maher look himself in the mirror every day? The man is a treasonous worm that should be plucked from his pulpit on HBO and used as bait in Iraq. Or maybe he should take his big mouth and go to some reporting from the front lines - could you imagine if he was taken hostage?

Al Qaeda would be video taping him, and he'd feel right at home. I'm sure in his head, he'd be like, "Hahahaha, I knew I was right!! This is just like I thought things were here...just some God-fearing Muslim moderates having a BBQ and shooting some home videos..."

And then his head would be on the floor, disconnected from his body. And he'd realize what reality is, and what we're up against. Except he wouldn't realize anything, because he'd be dead.

But don't worry, Rosie asserted again today that "terrorism" is a creation of the American government, which also happens to be the largest and most efficient practioner of terrorism in the world. Please God, just kill Rosie Odonnell and Bill Maher, at the very least so our troops can be spared from disrespect for one day, and at the very best, our nation will stop paying and listening to people as delusional and psychotic as these two.

By the way, my opening question was a trick one: Bill Maher can't look at himself in the mirror, because he's a vampire, only without the super powers.

How Maher still has a show am

How Maher still has a show amazes me, but sadly doesn't surprise me.

Remember, one of Bungalow Bill's scheduled guests in September of 2001 was on a plane to LA to appear on his "Politically Incorrect" show on the morning of 9/11, but she never make it, as she was incinerated when her plane was hijacked and flown into the Pentagon. I refer of course to Barbara Olson.

You would think Bill would have learned something from that episode, but how can one educate an idiot?

Bill Maher-effer can't go -

Bill Maher-effer can't go - don't you know it's "out of control" over there?

Shouldn't we have Pat Roberson cut his head off? After all, "radical Christianity is just as dangerous as radical Islam."

Ignorance is bliss. It's easier to repeat a mindless slogan than to do some actual research.

Please God, just kill Rosie

Please God, just kill Rosie Odonnell and Bill Maher...

While I'm not a moderator here and have no actual authority, I'd ask you to please don't go wishing death on people; those of us on the right would prefer that to be the exclusive domain of Democratic Underground. We cannot occupy the moral high-ground if we sink to their level.

In no way do I wish to become

In no way do I wish to become one of the intolerant hate-spewing hypocrites that generally populate the DU and the MSM.

But day after day of lies, ignorance and disrespect toward our troops (which touches a nerve with me, as my father, who was awarded three purple hearts, served in Vietnam as an 18 year old until he was 22, two of my cousins currently serve in the Marines, and three of my close friends that I've known my entire life are in the army, battling in Iraq at this very moment) is driving me to the edge of insanity.

I know I should basically ignore those with such warped and ignorant viewpoints, but it hurts my heart to know that there are people close to me who are putting their lives on the line, only to have domestic treasoners like Maher and Odonnell disrespect their efforts in such a nonchalont manner, usually for their own monetary or political gain.

Lastly, aren't there literally millions of people around the world right now praying to their God that he destroys America? The he Destroys our countrymen, our wives, our children? I don't want to become hateful like them, but at what point is it OK for us to fight back with the same ammo that they are using? Our soldiers have taken vows to defend our land against enemies, both foreign and domestic. I may not be in the military, but I think it's my duty to defend our soldiers abroad against domestic enemies like Odonnell and Mahar.

It is your duty---

It is your duty---and you are fulfilling it by what you post here. NBers (most) are strong supporters of our military. And although I am not a big Bush fan, I have no doubt that what he is doing and what the troops are doing for us is right.

I would rather have a bunch of extremists hating me and America than be attending the funerals of victims of terrorism, killed here in America.

Keep the faith--pray for our troops, we are!

Where’s the coward that would not dare to fight for such a land? And the parent that wouldn't be honored by the sacrifice?

Thanks, Misterbill...

I like your quote...but I'm scared that there are many in our country that know not the meaning of sacrifice, nor do they have the internal fortitude to take up arms in defense of America, no matter what the threat.

Jpatch -while these millions---

Jpatch -while these millions---are praying for our destruction, we are praying for our troops, not only for their safekeeping, but for their success.

One does not have to be a genius to understand that America's success in establishing a democracy or a republic in Iraq will change the whole world and for the better. That is something that those in America who would show the white feather do not understand.

God smile upon our boys and girls who do our work for us.

Where’s the coward that would not dare to fight for such a land? And the parent that wouldn't be honored by the sacrifice?

Maher's advice to the troops:

Maher's advice to the troops: Who are you going to believe, the NYTimes and the MSM, or your own lying eyes?

Maher sneers at religion as a willing disbelief that flies in the face of facts. Yet is there anyone who falls for every leftist media spin quicker than Maher? Maher can't explain why the soldiers on the ground in Iraq believe in their mission. He can't explain why they re-enlist. He can't explain why these soldiers, who are more educated than ever, still think we can win. So, faced with facts that he can't explain, he blames everything on the evil boogeyman. It must be Bush's fault. He does exactly what he accuses religious believers of doing: he creates a myth to explain what he cannot understand.

This guy is the truest of true believers in the MSM.

Nice one, Noel.

You finally stuck a fork in him, literally. Great pic, too.

Too bad he's such a vampire. He's obviously a bloodsucker....and I'm certain he pretends to "support the troops". Sheesh, what a vile liar.

Correct me if I am wrong, but didnt Richard Belzer, on Maher's show, state that the average military person was highly uneducated? I also think that there was nary a peep from Maher. Why did he not correct Belzer, if he so obviously knows the truth?

Maher

He is having his fun for now but he is sowing fields of misery for himself. One day and probably in the not so distant future he is going to reap what he has sown. He will find himself alone, broken financially and spiritually. A pathetic little gnome eaten up by his own hatred and bitterness. I would say he needs to pray for a crop failure but he is already on record ridiculing religion and people of faith. His so called Hollywood friends who lavish praise and adoration on him today will cut him off like a hangnail at the first opportunity when he is of no more use to them. They always have done this with their own and they always will.

The way the media has been ea

The way the media has been eating it's own, might be sooner then later. I canceled HBO months ago.

Missing the point

If Maher thinks soldiers will get their facts from YouTube he's pretty crazy. He's totally missing the point.

The point which many are making (which you may or may not agree with) is that social network websites like MySpace are a good way to keep in touch with other people and friends etc.

"Since this war began

"Since this war began the number of soldiers in Iraq who think Saddam Hussein was responsible for 9/11 has stunned us all."

Yet, conveniently, no discussion of the recent shocking poll showing that a majority of dems think Bush may have been responsible for 9/11.

To a small extent, Saddam was

To a small extent, Saddam was culpable for the 9/11 attacks.

For at least ten years he fostered a culture of suicide attacks on innocent targets by providing families of suicide bombers cash payments following successful attacks in Isreal.

The Arabic world observed the swelling numbers of attacks and it provided fuel to a groundswell in the arabic world that now sees such attacks as morally justified.

The facts..

Bill Maher is a moron. Having just back from Iraq myself, I can tell you that the reason why the military clamped down on such sites as YouTube is because of security issues, NOT to suppress Bill Maher's version of reality.

As though Bill Maher and his ilk are truly concerned about the 'troops'? No. Comments like Bill Mahers demonstrate their utter disdain for the military.

Exactly. I get parody from

Exactly. I get parody from youtube. It is obvsious to me that Maher-effer gets his news and insight from youtube.

Now if they blocked news sites, I'd be concerned.

Ignorance is bliss. It's easier to repeat a mindless slogan than to do some actual research.

Of course. We not only had ac

Of course. We not only had access to the Internet, but we also watched AFN and both FOX News and (ugh) CNN on a regular basis.

Evidently, Bill Maher believes the 'truth' only comes from sources like YouTube, MySpace, Wilkipedia, MoveOn.org, etc.

People like Bill Maher are utterly delusional.

Maher is an example if the feedback cycle

These libtards do not like to be exposed to ideas and points of view that are contrary to their own. As a result they tend to idolize those who share their views and make them famous for nothing more than being famous (little thought process). Those who are famous (for being famous) think that their viewpoints actually matter and start spouting off more non-sense that is illconcieved and not logical. The libtard masses eat it up because it reinforces their own demented views. And so it continues.

Maher, O'Donnell, Matthews, Oberman, etc, etc. They create a self-fulfilling feedback loop that will eventually have to implode under the weight of reality, or will be destroyed by the islamofascists if it actually takes control of this country.

The day that "politician

The day that "politician" became a career choice is the day we started losing the Republic.

So true!

So Saddam planned and execute

So Saddam planned and executed the 9/11 attacks?

Saddam was a murdering dictat

Saddam was a murdering dictator that controlled a regime based upon illegal oil sales, torture and fear. In my opinion, invading Iraq was a brilliant move, for several reasons:

1. Removed one of the worst violaters of human rights in the world. Moreover, Saddam would have been more than happy to assist any and all in attacking America, and he had the funding to do so. People will say that that is ridiculous, but would you believe me if I told you before Sept. 11th that 4 planes were going to be highjacked and flown into both WTC Towers, the Pentagon and the Whitehouse?

2. Showed the rest of the world that we're not going to cower away when we're attacked, like other countries have. The terrorists want us to live in fear - we fear not, we live in the land of the free and the home of the brave.

3. We've created a battlefield that's allowed us to engage an otherwise cowardly and clandestine enemy. They are still cowardly and clandestine, but we've brought them out of the woodwork and onto the battlefield - the one regret is that the Iraqi people are caught in the middle, which is why we need the world's help!!! Terrorism isn't just the U.S.A.'s problem, but we're the only ones doing anything about it, AS USUAL!!!

There was another lefty com

There was another lefty comic that said the same thing about a year ago. He knew more about the war because he read more papers then the troops.....Ya got to love the libs, they just keep us laughing at them. Bill Mahar spends more time with Hef then he does anywhere else. I don't think he reads much at the Playboy mansion.

bill maher

i think that bill maher should take a little trip to iraq and be an embed with our soldiers. he would be shamed by the knowledge our soldiers have of the situation, the tribes, the stakes, beyond anything that appears in any paper. mr. maher just displays his total and complete ignorance everytime he opens his mouth. keep speaking, bill!
