Alan 'GOP Wants You To Die Quickly' Grayson 'Apologizes' a Month Later for Vicious Sept. Sexist Insult

GraysonOnGOPdieQuicklyHealthCare0909In late September, Florida Congressional Democrat Alan Grayson earned attention and apparently fawning support from the far left by describing the Republican Party's health care plan, as "1. Don't get sick; 2. And if you do get sick, 3. die quickly."

Grayson's supposed apology for these over-the-top remarks on the House Floor -- remarks that would surely have earned him censure and relentless media coverage had he been a Republican criticizing a Democrat -- consisted of saying, as paraphrased by Clay Waters of NewsBusters, that his "remorse was not for Republicans, rather for the dead .... comparing the existing health care system to the Holocaust."

This is from a guy whose party has several go-to health care "experts" and others (e.g., Zeke the Bleak Emanuel, John "Sterilize The Water Supply" Holdren) who advocate what Sarah Palin correctly characterized as "death panels."

Little did we know that in September, Grayson made himself a House ogre with his floor remarks, he hurled a grievously sexist and offensive insult at a senior Federal Reserve adviser. Wait until you see what he called Linda Robertson on the apparently syndicated but apparently lightly heeded Alex Jones show (relevant audio begins at about 0:35 of the 1:43 YouTube video; Warning - Objectionable language follows):

And here I am, the only member of Congress who actually worked as an economist. This lobbyist, this K Street whore, is trying to teach me about economics.

It's important to note, as seen at the video's 1:30 mark, that Grayson's original instinct was to defend what he said through his spokesman:

The attack was on her professional career, not her personal life. She's a career lobbyist who used to work for Enron and advocates for whatever she gets paid to promote.

It should also go without saying that it's reasonable to question the legitimacy of any apology for a comment such as this one occurring roughly a month after it was said -- Ben Evans's Associated Press coverage of Grayson's remark reports that he said it "last month" -- and only then after the public outrage became too hot to handle. That same AP article tells us that Grayson offered what he called a "sincere apology" mere hours after his spokesman defended him.

The AP's Evans also tells us that "A spokeswoman for the Federal Reserve declined to comment." I would have expected at least a little public chivalry out of Ben Bernanke, but no dice. Linda Robertson deserved better from her boss.

The results of this search at the New York Times in "K Street Whore" (not in quotes) indicate that the coverage of Grayson's intense sexism only occurred at the paper's Caucus blog and did not make it into a print edition. Even that item gave equal grief to Grayson and New York Democratic Congressman Anthony Weiner, who reacted to Grayson's latest by asking, "Is this news to you that this guy’s one fry short of a Happy Meal?"

Also while the AP did cover the story, its headline ("'Die quickly' Democrat kicks up new controversy") seems like more of a "don't read this" cover-up than a legitimate attempt to communicate what is in the underlying story.

VP Cheney comments

Today radio talker Mark Davis played a clip of Grayson being interviewed about VP Dick Cheney and he said things like : "Well, was there blood dripping from Mr. Cheney's fangs?"  "At the end of the interview did Mr. Cheney turn into a bat and fly away?"

Even on radio you could tell the person doing the interview just sat there and no one was smiling but Mr. Grayson.  A complete lead balloon.  THUD.  I'm thinking next year about this time he'll be cleaning out his office and that someone in his party has informed him he's at 14minutes30seconds and now coming across like a loud fart in church.

I sure hope that you're

I sure hope that you're right, Tex.  The man is a hateful "D" bag, and an embarassment to his constituents.

Facts are like kryptonite to the liberal.

I agree

Grayson has provided ample evidence that he is a moonbat, and I don't care for his pompous, 'I'm an economist, therefore much smarter than you...'

Sure, the comment gives those who pine for "civility" something else to wring their hands about, but the fact is, lobbyists ARE whores.

That said, where's the coverage and outcry?  Right next to Van Jones calling the republicans a--holes, I guess.

Floridians kick this guy to the curb he is an ahole!

Not following the race but he sounds like he has a few years in office before he has to be re-elected!

"The bureaucracy is growing to meet the needs of the growing bureaucracy"

A few years?  He's a

A few years?  He's a Representative--can't be more than 2, and since we're coming up on November, it's either 1 month or 13.  Turns out he's up next year.  Keep your memory hats close at hand, Florida.

"Beauty is only skin deep, but liberal's to the bone." - me

its a shame you want to

its a shame you want to throw out the one guy that asks tough questions of the fed and doesn't put up with their lobbyists

republicans - supporting the billionaires and their lobbyists at all costs.

real conservatives look out for the american people

I wonder

Whether I could agree with your definition of a "real conservative."

Once Again......

Once again, as a pro-life and anti-abortion Conservative, this loon makes me think there are exceptions! This idiot is an example of throwing away the child and keeping the placenta!

Is There a Doctor in the House?

There has to be.  Really.  And that doctor could have taken Grayson private and had a little discussion.  He obviously poses a danger to himself and others.  This yo-yo should have had his head examined after his first insistence that Republicans want you to die quickly.

With unencumbered ease, even a grade schooler can discern Grayson's mental/emotional balance is way, way, way off the beam.

He is unfit to hold the office of US Representative.

Free pass for liberals

We all know there's a double standard and that certified liberals are allowed to get away with racist and sexist comments (as long as they vote for free and easy abortion)

I loved Grayson's nervous

I loved Grayson's nervous anger when the kid with the mic and the cameraman hounded him down the hall. Big Al can dish it out but can't take it. Someone grab a camera and hound this foolish Lib relentlessly.

Tough talking coward

Just like his hero bathtub boy, it turns out that he was hiding in his office way passed his usual 03:30 end of day.

He was heard whining "Why won't they just leave" and the pussy actually called the cops.

Hero to the left, yep, sounds like their type of hero.

I haven't liked much that O'Reilly has done and said for a while now, but this story was eye opening.

A great man once said, YOU only get out of life what YOU put into it, he obviously wasn't a liberal.

WHAT? who's side is Newsbusters on?

Can some one here tell me what you'd call a K street lobbyist who gave us everyone's favorite company ENRON? Enron's push to deregulate the energy market (lead by robertson) destroyed the lives of many people. I would have much harsher words for her.

Who side are you guys on? the american peoples? or the billionaires and their lobbyists?

why does the fed need a lobbyist? could it be because they know the american people are waking up to their reckless behavior and they need some one to control our elected reps?

say whatever you want on grayson in the healthcare department. but when it comes to the fed he asks great questions and I'm happy that a representative doesn't bow down to lobbyists

WATCH THIS VIDEO and tell me you didn't like how he grilled this person. we need more questions like this from our representatives:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJqM2tFOxLQ&feature=channel

I'm not a fan of lobbyists

Not that I have to prove it, but here. The person involved did not return to Congress after a 12-year hiatus as he had hoped partially because his attempts to hide his lobbying connections from the voters were exposed.

I happen to agree with Grayson on the urgent need to have the Fed submit to a Big Four audit; it may be one of the few things we agree on.

The point is that you don't call women "whores" and expect an okey-dokey from me or anyone else with a shred of decency.

If you think that's okay, well there's always Daily Kos, and it would apprear a segment of left-wing talk radio. They'll apparently let any kind of expletive fly.

           Why

Why in the world would Florida, or anybody, want to have this guy represent their state? He sounds like Pelosi. Throw the bum out.

????

What the "H" is wrong with these states that put these embeciles in office???    They can't be happy with them can they?

Why are you on the side of K

Why are you on the side of K street lobbyists? do you hate the average american so much that you'll be on the billionaires side all the time over the average american who can't afford to spend millions buying their representatives?

I'm glad he called her that, he called a spade a spade. She gave us enron, and enron ruined the lives of thousands of people and now the fed is trying to do the same thing...

sheesh, who side are you on? the billionaires and their lobbyists or the average american?

See above, and beyond that .....

..... Nobody is on the side of K Street lobbyists, and how DARE you imply that anyone is.

I would suggest not putting words in peoples' mouths if you expect to make any kind of point.
