Maher Insults Alabama and Mississippi Voters: 'Toothless Tuesday Too Tight to Tally'
HBO's Bill Maher on Tuesday took a disgusting cheap shot at Alabama and Mississippi voters.
With all eyes on Republican primaries in those states, Maher sent a message via Twitter saying, "Toothless Tuesday too tight to tally!"
This came just days after he and his Real Time panel mocked poor people in Mississippi.
Their behavior was even too offensive for Roseanne Barr who tweeted Tuesday, "I was really disheartened to see how Pelosi's daughter& Bill Maher portrayed southern americans-classism at its best by H'wood elitists."
Barr followed this up with, "southern folk are not all toothless idiots or racists, unlike what bill maher &pelosi's daughter want us to think."
You know what they say - when you've lost Roseanne Barr...

I remember this guys show on late night television, called Politically Incorrect. I checked it out the first time it was on, and remember thinking that it would be sweet to finally have a commentator on who didn't tow the politically correct line. It didn't take too long of watching that show to realize that it was about as politically correct as you could possibly get. He's hasn't changed a bit over the years. My sister moved to New York during the early 2000s, barely missed being right in the middle of Ground Zero. She would constantly get chided for being their "token redneck" at the office. Most of it was in good fun, of course, but the overriding assumption was there.
One day, the usual "Do they wear shoes in Mississippi?" jokes were flying about. She graciously and calmly told her co-workers, "I lived in Mississippi all my life, and the only bare feet I saw were at the swimming pool. I've lived in New York for one year, and I've seen two different women peeing on the stairs of the subway."
Oh, and one Brooklyn guy heard her Southern (not country, by the way) accent, and asked her if she was from England. I kind of found that charming.

I have tried to watch Maher several times since his show began...I love comics/comedians and each time I tuned it I kept thinking I was missing something because his attempt at being funny wasn't working...and I'm guessing the majority of viewers feel the same way.
It seems that when you fail as a comic/comedian you, if you time it just right, you can get a cable show...when that fails, as this appears to be doing, you run for political office, which he'll likely win (as did Al Franken). I guess the urge to be funny never ceases for them because, as Will Rogers once said, "With Congress, every time they make a joke it's a law, and every time they make a law it's a joke." This is still true today...
