David Axelrod Cancels Bill Maher Appearance

Feeling pressure in the wake of the Rush Limbaugh-Sandra Fluke controversy, Bill Maher recently said he could say disgusting things about Sarah Palin and other women because he's on HBO and doesn't have sponsors.

Apparently the White House doesn't completely agree, for according to Politico, David Axelrod, one of Obama's right-hand men, has cancelled an upcoming appearance on Maher's Real Time:

David Axelrod will not be appearing as a guest on “Real Time with Bill Maher,” despite reports last week that he was scheduled to do the show in the next few weeks.

“He's not scheduled to go on at this time,” said Ben LaBolt, the press secretary for President Obama’s reelection campaign.

Makes you wonder if pressure from Fox News's Greta Van Susteren last week helped the Administration's decision.

Whatever it was, the next step is for Obama to instruct his Super PAC to return Maher's $1 million donation, and for all Democrats currently holding office to refuse Real Time invitations.

Maybe then Maher will get the message that not having sponsors doesn't entitle him to say these disgusting things about women on television.

Stay tuned.

Please sign our petition to get Obama to return Maher's money.

Wow - Axelrod -- a win for ethics

Submitted by Gary Hall on Wed, 03/14/2012 - 12:19am.

It's a small step - but it's a win for humanity.

Thank you NB, and all who worked behind the scenes to put pressure on these clowns.

Now when Obama tells the SuperPAC to give back Maher's money, we'll know they're serious.

News Busters. Let's all keep up the pressure on these radical libs and get them off the media. Enough of the filth and hate!! America is great and does not have time for repulsive "people" on the air-ways spewing their agendas which, add up to zero, sponsors or not.

Axelrod goes all "teachable"

Submitted by Cool Arrow on Wed, 03/14/2012 - 12:38am.

Now that's shocking, that David Axelrod shows more character than The President.

I always saw Axelrod as a substance from which President Obama might create alternate fuel.

Axelrod's cancelling wasn't about character..

Submitted by greggy on Wed, 03/14/2012 - 2:09am.

it was about the political calculus of being caught embarrassingly flat-footed in his brazen, sanctominious hypocrisy.

"Axelrod has used the Limbaugh affair to attack Mitt Romney, slamming him for having “essentially refused to comment on what was a really egregious set of comments by Limbaugh” and saying “he’s afraid to challenge a guy who’s the de-facto head of his party.”

Thus inadvertently obligating his own boss to "comment on what was a really egregious set of comments by MAHER”, and pointing out that “Obama’s afraid to challenge a guy who carries his water every week, and just gave him a million dollars he doesn't want to return.”

Axelrod and the Obama 2012 campaign are starting to distance themselves from Maher like they did Rev. Wright after Wright's racial politics were exposed, but it's not because they suddenly discovered that Maher is a misogynist. They loved him and his hefty contribution until his past behavior drew more and more attention. Now they want to airbrush him out of the photos, so to speak.

There's a good chance that once the Republicans select their nominee and focus on Obama, they'l unleash a barage of negative stuff that will keep Axelrod and friends very busy.

That is if the GOP is smart enough to do it right.

Yeah, those WWII surplus chutes can be a real question mark.

May they all be equipped with one. :-)

As for Ron Brown, well, a chute wasn't going to do much for him, anyway.

Perhaps Axelgrease and Barry Barack Soetoro Hussein Obama, or whatever the Hell his name really is, will fair a little better.

Just maybe they can share roots, bark, and captured rainwater on a Nork beach in a post-landing feast of a celebration.

Or something.

It must be getting pretty crowded under that bus.

Maybe Maher and Arlen Specter can swap war stories to pass the time.

On that note, maybe Maher should just invite everyone Obama has abandoned after using them up for a big sob fest.

Maher and Jon Stewart are the de-facto leaders of the Dem Party

Submitted by OxyCon on Wed, 03/14/2012 - 2:46am.

That's why Democrat leaders are always cozying up to them and appearing on their shows.

Now whenever a Democrat goes on those shows, they condone and own every misogynist, hate filled rant uttered by Maher and Stewart.

David Axlefraud is a chickensh*t who doesn't have the guts to openly embrace Maher's hate speech, but he condones it and spreads it when no one is looking. The Republicans should run ads of the greasy looking slimeball Axlefraud with his ugly picture on them and the caption "Would you buy a used car from this man? Well in 2008 you bought a President from him. How's that working out for you?"

Would you buy a used car from this man? Sure. How about a deal on a used Volt? 40 miles on a charge (If you're lucky) and 100 miles per push. This man brings new meaning to the word "Sleazy." He'd be perfect cast as a used car salesman in the upcoming (Hopefully) documentary showing the obambis packing up to leave their public housing present home..........better count the silverware and run the whole family through a metal detector. I understand they plan to use a truck from "Rent-A-Volt." The company motto is, "We move you - 40 miles at a time!"

Use their tactics on them

Submitted by Woody Woodpecker on Wed, 03/14/2012 - 10:25am.

Use the tactics of the left against them. Call your cable provider and cancel HBO. Save some money for the summer and go to HBO's site and tell them you are sick of the leftist garbage they serve as entertainment so you cancelled your subscription. Tell them that if they reign in scum like Mahar and the people who fabricated the McCain -Palin movie you will come back. Fight them like they fight us.
