Bill Maher: 'If Rick Santorum Is Your Youth Minister' You’d Switch to 'One Who Just Molests'

Bill Maher unsurprisingly took some vicious cheap shots at Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum on HBO's Real Time Friday.

In his final New Rule segment, Maher said, "If Rick Santorum is your youth minister, you’d ask your parents to switch you to the one who just molests" (video follows with transcript and commentary):

BILL MAHER: New Rule, President Obama must stand up and thank the man who’s been out there day after day tirelessly helping his campaign – Rick Santorum. Every time I turn on the news, Christy McSweatervest has just said something crazier than the last crazy thing he said. He said JFK makes him want to throw up – not the man, the airport, because if God had wanted man to fly, he wouldn’t have made flight attendants so gay.

He says climate change is just a big hoax – you know, like Bigfoot or the female orgasm. He thinks condoms are not okay – which means he’s either a religious nut, or he’s never heard of lube.

If Rick Santorum is your youth minister, you’d ask your parents to switch you to the one who just molests.

Wow!

Earlier on Friday, Barack Obama contacted Georgetown University law student and women's rights activist Sandra Fluke to show her support following comments made about her by conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh.

Is the President concerned about things liberal commentators are saying about conservatives or only what conservatives say about liberals?

Exactly how can Obama allow his Super PAC to take money from a man that consistently says far more vile things about Americans than anything Limbaugh said about Fluke?

And while we're at it, when will the President call conservative talk radio host Laura Ingraham to express his condolences for MSNBC's Ed Schultz calling her a slut back in May?

I'm sure Ingraham isn't holding her breath.

Just turn off HBO

Submitted by TheHistorian on Sat, 03/03/2012 - 3:18pm.

Best way to get rid of Maher? Quit subscribing to HBO. You obviously are getting what you pay for on THAT channel.

We'll never get rid of Maher

Submitted by Chaitealover on Sat, 03/03/2012 - 3:28pm.

as long as Newsbusters keeps giving him the free publicity he so obviously craves. I don't subscribe to HBO & I turn off any program that gives him air time, but then I come here and can't avoid headlines of his disgusting comments.

Isn't it about time that

Submitted by motherbelt on Sat, 03/03/2012 - 3:17pm.

Isn't it about time that Maher's show be classified as in "in-kind" political contribution to the Obama re-election campaign? Oh, wait!! I forgot.....Obama's not campaigning!

Any Republican candidate would be hounded to return the donation of the brother's friend's sister's nephew of someone who said something like this about Barack Obama.

There's not ONE statement in

Submitted by killa37 on Sat, 03/03/2012 - 3:12pm.

There's not ONE statement in that in-the-gutter spiel that Donkeyface said that makes ANY sense............but I can say one thing - I'd NEVER let Donkeyface near any kids, period!!! This worthless piece of jackass droppings is the vilest and filthiest thing I've probably ever seen or heard publically.................and, like Boy Barry, I've got no respect for ANYONE who listens to him, follows him, thinks he is precient, or supports him.

VS a candidate who has won several states. Only molests?
How is this statement NOT leading the Sunday morning shows?
Instead, they will probably focus on a personality who has not donated, has not
endorsed any candidate-->Rush Limbaugh.
Can any sane person explain this?

Bill Maher is on a Joke concert tour and so is Santorum

Submitted by lrgon on Sat, 03/03/2012 - 3:29pm.

Maher concert tikets were selling for $99.00; the cheaper seats had a price tag of around half the more expensive seats.

The problem with America is in the schools. The generations that have been indoctrinated in the "Ten Commandment-less" public schools since Jimmy Carter gave the Department of Education to the NEA. However, the DOE is a monument to socialist John Dewey. Here in the DOE is the core of America's culture problem. Public education produces the Bill Mahers and his legion of fans.

The irony is that Rick Santorum voted to increase the DOE funding. His vote for Liberal George W. Bush's No Child Left Behind bill! He now sheepishly claims it was a "mistake," and that he voted for NCLB for "the team" meaning the GOP team. But he casually ignores that it's not the "team" he owes his allegiance to, he owes it to the Constitution which does NOT authorize a creature like the Department of Indoctrination - the DOE.

Ann Coulter says that Rick doesn't really understand the Constitution.I disagree. He just thinks the Constitution is a joke. Here is Ann's commentary on the GOP jokester:
http://dailycaller.com/2012/02/29/the-problem-with-santorum/

Not obeying the Constitution has been the moral problem with Rick Santorum.Of course it doesn't help Rick's image as he sits and applauds his liberal friend Arlen Spector go on and on about supporting abortion. http://www.ronpaul2012.com/2012/03/02/santorum-with-specter-in-1996-to-p...

Who's the bigger Joker, Rick or Bill Maher?

I remember after 9/11 I saw those plastic caged, deodorant cakes in urinals at some of the stores in our area. They had pictures of OBL on them. I think Maher's picture would be a prime candidate for this kind of "publicity."

Why do we pay attention to this man? He has nothing to say. He lacks the intellect needed to make a contribution.

If Newsbusters quotes his outlandish and irritating statements it is for nought. This is what he wants. This idiot with Community college written all over him wants to be a shock jock. Just ignore him and I assure you he will go away.

I repeat. He has nothing to say.

Oh please, give me a break! The President has no say in what any Super PAC wants to do. These are independent organizations that have no affiliation with a candidate’s campaign. Just ask Twit Romney….

What does Maher know about youth ministers?

Submitted by JohnP in OK on Sun, 03/04/2012 - 1:44am.

He'd actually have to have gone to a church (other than the Leftist Church of Liberalism) to even begin to know what he's talking about.

And from the hate that spews from him like the water and steam from Old Faithful, it's clear he never went near a church in his life.

If you can't please everybody, piss 'em all off!

Why anyone imagines Maher is important enough to require his every rant and obvious demagoguery and lies to be constantly repeated by supposedly right leaning sites is disturbing at best! Maher is a tree falling in a forest of fools. Why should he get more exposure than he deserves?
