MRC-TV: Brent Bozell Blasts 'Anti-Catholic Bigot' Joy Behar

"Joy Behar has called homeschoolers demented" and "is an ongoing, non-stop anti-Catholic bigot... yet it's Elisabeth Hasselbeck" that the media label controversial, laments Media Research Center President Brent Bozell. [audio available for download here]

The NewsBusters publisher appeared on the May 8 "Fox & Friends" to address how the media consider Hasselbeck "controversial" for teaching her kids to believe the Bible's creation account rather than labeling liberal co-host Behar "controversial" for suggesting that teaching children creationism is "child abuse."

STEVE DOOCY, "Fox & Friends" co-host: So they label Elisabeth as controversial or as the conservative but Joy Behar is always labeled the comedian!

BRENT BOZELL: Oh yeah, but see, they can always fall back on that. Whoopi  Goldberg does the same thing. Rosie O'Donnell is another one. They can be insulting, but when they really go over the top, then they say, "Well, we were just kidding, it was just a joke." You hear that all the time.

Same MO as always

When Jamie Foxx said some vile things about Miley Cyrus his first excuse was he's a comic.

People didn't find it too funny when Michael Richards went off on his little "comedy routine".

Hasselbeck is

Hasselbeck is "controversial" because she's a conservative.

All liberal views are "moderate" and "mainstream."  In fact, liberalism is actually centrist.

I'm thrilled to hear Brent say what I keep saying here about liberal humor.  I feel I'm in very good company.

They can be insulting, but when they really go over the top, then they
say, "Well, we were just kidding, it was just a joke." You hear that
all the time.

That's been my description of liberal humor all along....they spew their vitriol, and then yell "It's a joke!!"  Hahahaha!

They might say "Wow, that sucks!"  But at least they'll say "Wow!"  -Duff Goldman, the Ace of Cakes

Re; motherbelt

"That's been my description of liberal humor all along....they spew their vitriol, and then yell 'It's a joke!!'  Hahahaha!"

And unfortunately, motherbelt, they get a pass on it and sometimes, as with America's unfunniest commode-ian Al Franken, it translates into a political career as a Democratic senator. Of course you do also need a lot of recount funny business and a lot of people who won't talk much about 'highlights' of the Franken record like his Playboy piece "Porn-O-Rama" or his years as a hatemonger against Republicans.

But, you know, all those years when I, Al Franken, made jokes about Supply-Side Jesus and refused to shake a College Republican kid's hand--just a joke, people! Puh-lease, have you no sense of humor???

Brent said it all...the

People would avoid her

If Joy Behar wasn't on Television or well known she would be the loud mouth woman that everyone tries to avoid in public. Sitting around some starbucks or some local bar spewing her liberal hate to other knitwits. She reminds me of the loud relative that everyone tries to avoid in public or doesn't want to be seen in public with.

You are right.  I bet she

You are right.  I bet she doesn't have any real friends.

 Wanna see a Joy Behar

Wanna see a Joy Behar bashing? go to Ann Coulter's site. A can-o-wupass unleased!

"There are two types of people in this country; those who provide freedom and those who enjoy it." MM says...

I will hav to check that out

I will hav to check that out MM...was it yesterdays posting from her?

Reason I ask, I know it used to be Thursday she would post her column...so much going on politically anymore, I forget to check her great wit.

Want to see Joy Beharharhar go away...

....just have Elizabeth quit the show and ALL other conservatives refuse to take part in it, and all that will be left is another Air America type program.  It too will follow the course of disappearing, as AA did.

Anyone who gives 3 seconds of their time to this completely obnoxious, inane program needs to seek help.  I'd rather watch paint dry!

richard... Unfortunately

richard...

Unfortunately we will never be that lucky it seems...

I have felt those representing the right side of the aisle ought to refuse to go on CNN and msnbc with the talking heads...yet they continue to do so.

For the life of me, if they all quit doing as such...it would be the best thing that could happen to those networks in my opinion.

bt - agree - how I wish NO conservative would appear on the

alphabet networks!  They would soon lose the ability to smear someone in person and then watch their ratings go down.

I pride myself on the fact that I have NEVER watched the program, the few clips I see here and other places on the net have convinced me I am one smart woman ;-)  It's time for Elizabeth H to take a hike and let them spend the show tearing each other apart!

Cape Conservative,

Token Republican panel members and sacrificial Republican interviewees (aka sitting ducks) are just fig leaves for these liberal shows. Take away their fig leaves and they are exposed for the one-sided liberal cess pools they have been all along. Yeah, and they will turn on each other, like the Democrats in DC are beginning to do in the face of a powerless opponent.

The "Mainstream" Media: By liberals. For liberals.

Hi Cape Conservative, I

Hi Cape Conservative,

I couldn't agree more. I have said the same thing about Elizabeth, that she should quit, but she won't because she is getting paid very well to sit there day after day and take their garbage. She is getting ready to have another baby so she will be taking a break. Personally, I would stay home with the babies.

OT But I've always wondered

OT But I've always wondered why the view doesn't have an hispanic hostess.  Is this symptomatic of how the Democrat party feels about hispanics?

brent is spot on

joy behar gets a pass on every hateful comment she makes.   Which is pretty much every time her mouth is open.

Hate crimes

Maybe there is something to this "hate crime" legislation?

If conservatives are RIGHT, then liberals must be WRONG.

Nothing new

Nothing new here.  Conservatives, even mild ones, are always "controversial" while liberals, even extreme ones, are never controversial.  Rush Limbaugh is controversial but Michael Moore is not;  Ann Coulter is controversial but Keith Olbermann is not; now even a relative lightweight like Elisabeth Hasselbeck is controversial and a collosal big mouth, Joy Behar, is nothing of the sort.  Go figure.

The most successful war America has ever waged is quickly becoming President Obama's war on capitalism.

The View is a perfect snapshot of reality.

Think about it for a minute:  The TV show "The View" is actually a perfect little snapshot of real life.  The only rational, intelligent, articulate and physically attractive member of that panel is also the only conservative member.

(Just callin' it like I see it)

Obamanomics is economic fascism.

I Wish They Wouldn't Kid About The Truth...

I agree they shouldn't have to say they were kidding because there is nothing wrong with anti-Catholic bigotry. After all, nobody complains about, say, anti-Nazi bigotry. No, I am not kidding, unlike those hypocrites. I sincerely believe that since the stations of the Cross, the Catholic Church has done the kind of damage that the Nazi party had done in World War II. The facts are all there: The pope, Pius the XII, actively aided Hitler in hunting down and murdering the Jews. The American Catholic bishops tried to suppress us secular Jews in Hollywood between 1934 and 1966 with their enforcement of the Hayes Codes. They were holding us hostage because they were afraid we would expose them for who they were, which was the anti-Semites that the elitist bishops and Vatican daemons are.

By the way, I don't believe in any of that conspiracy theory B.S. that The Da Vinci Code or Angels and Demons espouses. I appreciate the slandering towards the Church, but no, I don't believe in any of that.

Truth?

OK, I'm having a great deal of trouble determining if you're just being exceedingly ironic, in the manner of a great many NB posters, or if you really believe the garbage you spewed in your message. Neither time nor space permit me to refute your lies; but lies they are. Case in point: Pius XII, far from aiding and abetting the Nazis, risked his life and the Church's holdings to shelter Jewish people and get them to safety. This is documented in so many irrefutable ways that I have already given the charge more validity than it deserves. And in like manner the rest of this BS doesn't bear refutation.

Anti-Catholicism: The last acceptable bias in the United States if not the world (although I have to admit, anti-conservatism is becoming more and more blatant every day, but it's still eclipsed by anti-Catholicism).

It is wrong to be against

It is wrong to be against religious practices. Church goers should be respected. But it is destroying a child's mind when it is taught that the Earth is only 5 thousand years old or there was a place called the garden of eden where Adam and Eve lived. It is possible to be real and also have spiritual beliefs. It is also possible to be a Liberal and a church goer.
