Ahh, liberal "tolerance." I've written before (here and here) about how our "NewsBusted" comedy show just drives liberals nuts. Today I have another installment of anger and rage from the party of love and peace. It's axiomatic. Whenever something even slightly conservative becomes popular, it simply incenses liberals--especially if they are the target of humor. The comments are often very similar in nature (the left is big on independent thought after all), especially in their heavy reliance on profanity, although the most recent batch appearing on the YouTube page of our most recent "NewsBusted" episode does bring in a few new themes this week.
First the stereotypical: All conservatives are evil and therefore can never be funny:
ghostandgoblinsToday's bunch seems especially upset about conservative humorists Dennis Miller and Rush Limbaugh:
f*** me dead! honestly the generalization that Neo-Cons act and behave like they have massive poles shoved right up their f***ing a** is quiet accurate. This looked painful. I don't think they know what humor means. Irony is TOTALLY lost on them. Morals for them are buy/trade goods. Scary f***ing s***.
georgelinke
The global warming comment was ignorant. She is not a scientist so she can shut the hell up. The Neocons destroyed this nation in a span of only 8 years. It saddens my heart to see intelligence go out the widow for long winded beliefs.
ramblingvine
Wow... I think conservatives have a humor deficiency. It's like watching an android pet a puppy.
Bomber125
Funny?
Oh, I can't tell...
Neo-cons can't do comedy.
heybamanba
didn't you support george duhhhbaya bush. f*** i hate conservatives. if only they could get their heads outta jesus's a**, they could actually hear what his words meant.
tupinchamadre999One of my personal favorites is the seminar commenter:
What an ignorant bitch. Go suck on Rush Limbaugh's d*** you stupid right wing c***.
velcroFathoms
This is incredibly horrible, the jokes, the canned laughter...snarky humor really only works coming from a truthful perspective, compare Classic Carlin with current Dennis Miller.
Sorry, there is nothing to make light of in the current conservative perspective, its sad and inhuman
PIONEER009
GO BLOW DENNIS MILLER!!!!
podiumman2
Why is it whenever conservatives try to be funny (like Dennis Miller, or this woman), it always falls flat?
tsalagi88Then there are the good old-fashioned haters:
Wow. I'm a conservative, but I would have to agree....that was dumb.
yomommaAhoSometimes they just can't help coming back. This idiot left multiple comments, all of comparable intelligence and wit:
Was this supposed to be funny? All I saw was an ugly woman who probably has a d*** talking to me about liberal politics.
expectopatrono
i hate the way this c*** smirks after every "punchline". she thinks she nails it, lol! nice laugh track there bushbots

I just lost half of my brain cells and IQ watching this stupid s***

As much as it illustrates their intolerance, you have to take it with a grain of salt: Posting on the internet can act as a shield (it isn't 1 on 1 or IRL) so you can protect yourself/get away with saying just about anything and not get any/get very few repercussions for it. But still, nice to know they're making fools of their party :D

Speaking about what is unfunny..
February 24, 2008 - 21:29 ET by needleYour remark about these liberal foul-mouthed ranters acting like children is right-on even though you sound a bit off-hand about it.
These people by the way they think – or fail to think – reveal themselves to be quite juvenile. It is a blot on the intension of democracy that people so patently immature are allowed to vote.
“Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools” (Romans 1:22). Liberals pride themselves on being smarter than conservatives by definition; but consider their inability to form a thought which is cogent in any sense other than its profanity.

Some of these posters do remind me of posters on Howard Stern's site..especially the one who made the comment about Jesus...I know for a fact it reminded me of St. James or Little Jimmy as I called him, and or hater who was just about as bad back then.
Past pathetic.
At the risk of sounding like a hate filled liberal
February 24, 2008 - 15:24 ET by ApacheThe delivery isn't that great. The laugh track is horrible and the pause between jokes looks like they need to feed her each line and she could deliver a little more deadpan. Granted I've only seen a few because my work computer doesn't have sound. So I wouldn't dismiss all the critics as hate filled loons. If your audience is Brent Bozell then it is fine. Or anyone that can't handle South Park. But if you want to target conservatives that have a sense of humor then we need a Colin Quin, Dennis Miller or the fat kid from Last Comic Standing. I died laughing when that kid said the terrorists would never attack a NASCAR event. Thousands of rednecks would grab their hunting rifles, jump in their bass boats, and head toward the middle east. I guess it was funny because it was a dash of insult mixed with a dash of "Damn right".
You aren't swearing
February 24, 2008 - 15:31 ET by Matthew Sheffieldthat automatically makes you not like an internet lib :)
I'd love to be able to pay Colin Quin to do the show but really we don't have anywhere near that kind of dough.
Also, NB is more of a Leno/Letterman one-liner montage than a standup routine. Don't forget that.

February 24, 2008 - 16:26 ET by Hunter12Matt, Speaking for myself, keep Jody. She's tons better looking than Colin. I like the delivery. I think the libs attack because it's not the Jerry Lewis or fart-joke humor that they have the capacity to understand. It takes a certain amount of intelligence to get humor. If you can't laugh at it, it's because it went over your head. I'd say about 80% of it is pretty good. That's a lot better stats than the "golden age" of SNL had.

No standards
February 24, 2008 - 18:03 ET by ThisnThatThe lack of standards is the most telling part of this exchange. Why is it that leftists think "no restrictions should apply" in the use of language and swearing; yet, when a conservative presents an idea, that the idea is suddenly offensive and should be disallowed?
If NB permitted this type of language, I guarantee I wouldn't visit here anymore.

February 24, 2008 - 16:56 ET by Hunter12"Democratic politicians HAVE to be disgusted and even worried, if this is the level of intelligence of their base."
The IQ of these people is why they're a part of the Democratic base. Why be a part of a party that wants to take your money and give it to people who haven't contributed to the economy or society simply as a means to remain in power? They want to shove you into a system where youself and your family will go on waiting lists to get medical treatment. Etc, etc, etc.

CR... This may come
February 24, 2008 - 17:55 ET by Clear thinkerCR...
This may come across as strange, but I am almost hoping for a few years of hard times. My children and my grandchildren have no idea what it's like to have it tough. When my son was 16 yrs old I got him a job washing dishes at a local eatery because I told him he would have to pay for his own car. He only worked 3 nights a week. 5 hours a night, yet he complained the whole time about how hard it was to work just to earn money. And God forbid that one of those nights was on the weekend. My parenting skills did not work well with him. The testament to my failure is I'm now having to raise his daughter (not that I would trade the experience).
Anyway, I think it would be ok if we had some idiot, Dem or Rep run the country into a recession for the next 4 years. The end result would be a call for a Conservative POTUS for the next 8 years.
CT, I was thinking the same
February 24, 2008 - 19:17 ET by FastEdbut then "Clear Thinking" takes over and I get really frightened. It would be a bitter pill for the country, especially us here, but with all those hads out, could we pull ourselves up, out of that libotard morass? Woudl we have enough soap to wash away the stench and filth we would feel? Might as well become french. N'est pas?

February 24, 2008 - 22:00 ET by general companyYea, it isn't worth risking it. Undoing their Socialist programs will be extremely difficult when they have millions of voters addicted to them. Better to just keep them out of power, and establish a better way of informing the public of the dangers to their way of life, if the Dems get their way.
Unfortunately, so many Repubs are so dissatisfied with our nominee, we will probably hand the Dems the House, Senate, and WH to do what ever they want.

February 24, 2008 - 17:56 ET by PrairieSkyWhat I think is so interesting about all these comments (and all the others out there just like them), is how they so clearly illustrate what conservatives have known for so long. The looney, insane, profane left just don't get it. They rail at how stupid, ignorant, intolerant (the list goes on), conservatives are, and fail to see the hypocrisy of their own bile. The constant usage of disgusting profanity and invective (particularly that directed at women), is not only indicative of how truly deranged they all are, but also how intellectually and verbally lazy they are. A sure sign of someone who is unable to build a coherent, vigorous argument or defense of their own positions, is to use unrestrained profanity to make their point for them.
