Blogger "Conservative Belle" has a penchant for getting to the bottom of stories. You'll remember that a couple weeks ago, she discovered that the fallen soldier whose name David Shuster blamed Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) for not knowing had his official residence in another district. It was a Dem congressman, not Blackburn, whom the Department of the Army had notified of the soldier's death.
Conservative Belle [or "CB," as we like to call her] has gone Sherlock Holmes again today. And this time, she's discovered that "Media Matters," the outfit that denies that Hillary Clinton [contrary to her assertion as pictured here] helped start it, just happens to use as official agents a firm whose head honchos include . . . two senior political operatives from the Clinton adminstration.
CB also has unearthed some interesting information suggesting that in its solicitation of donations, "Media Matters" may be running afoul of the rules in a state near and dear to its DC home.

I know there is recorded evidence of her admiting to "helping" with Media Matters. She will twist that to mean verbal encouragement. So far only George Soros is a known contributor. He isn't running for office. Some of her former lackeys work there and some of Bill's former henchmen work there. The relationships are all incestuous in DC. This is a big part of why they aren't trusted out here in the rest of the country.

I signed up, and though I am no expert at analyzing 990 forms, I thought it was interesting that their revenues went from 80k+ in '03 to over 8mil in '05. Someone is putting a lot of money in there. They also claim to not be trying to influence legislation or public opinion, except for 11k in '05. Riighht!
There is a lot of info over on Frontpagemag.com on their Media Matters info page. Cybercast News Service has also done a lot of digging, and there are many links to other articles about these supposed media "watchdogs". Grrrr!
While I was there, I checked on the Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation which provides scholarships to the children of "Marines and Federal law enforcement agents who die in the line of duty as well as Mentally and physically challenged children of Marine families...when the costs are not entirely covered by the family's insurance." I browsed to the '04 (I think) 990 form and not one salaried employee was listed! I wonder how long we'd have to look to find another charity with that kind of setup?

The way I remember it, you were here first and I learned "the ropes" from reading the way you handled some of the trolls that haunted this site back then, i.e. "hater" and others, who seemed to be attracted to attacking you as moths are attracted to a flame. You were really good at swatting them away without sinking to their level and I learned something from that.
Hopefully, Hillary will not be coronated. Whether she is or not, we'll just have to keep up the good fight. If God has it in store that she should win, while I will be very sad, angry, and not understanding, I'm sure that in the end it will work to our benefit, although at this point in time, it is hard to see how.

In this country, we have a free press that is supposed to protect us from this stuff and what are they doing? Here's what I know, Media Matters could have never gotten away with their Limbaugh action without help from the MSM. The majority of the MSM avoided the story and let their cable outlets do the dirty work and the silence was deafening. The Palm Beach Post not only hasn't said a word about it, they also had an interview with Limbaugh in the paper.
Does anyone suppose that, had Newsbusters put out a false story about a Liberal talk host, the media would have been silent? Of course I don't see Newsbusters doing anything like that, which is why there is such a big difference between us and them.

That is a major no-no unless certain criteria are met; i.e., they can only come from an individual, a PAC or a political party. An "organization" that is not a PAC cannot make such contributions to a candidate.
