Didn't Germany require their youth to sign up for something, too? I can't remember exactly, as history lets us forget such things....the SS perhaps? Their leader was charasmatic as well.

If this was a Pres. Bush plan, the media would be red hot mad about this Compulsory Plan.  It would be plastered and skewered on all the morning news shows, liberal blogs, network news and every liberal hack so-called analyst will be up in arms.  We saw a taste of it when "draft" rumors were flying to scare young minds to vote Democrat.  How ironic.  This is a clear example the media is going to give Obama a pass on just about everything.  I guess everything as long as they stay in-line with the program.

   That's a real puzzler.  Being forced to work for your government will give you a sense of what it means to be an American?  And all the time I thought NOT being forced to work for the government was what it meant to be an American.

but in the case of this interview, i think emanuel is proposing a compulsary service reqmnt similar to what they have in israel.  i think we do ourselves a disservice when we just blast out at the left without a thought...i feel it has been done here.  if you know emanuel's history of civilian service in israel you would have to say he at least comes by it by experience not from evil intention.  and i really don't hear anyone complaining about or dissing israels compulsary service reqmnt.  btw, that does NOT mean i believe in compulsary service nor does it mean i am NOT concerned about an obama adminstration version of a civilian corps.  but then, i am just as concerned about it being foisted by our current administration under homeland security as the citizen corps  http://www.citizencorps.gov/.  the involvement of youth in the security aspect of our nation does smack of some troubling pasts.  but hey, i am trying to get my kids to be able to properly profile those who seem dangerous like those having suspicious middle names, etc.

This "plan" is typical of the "liberal". Always plotting and planning to srew something up. And, of course, if it's THEIR plan, it is doomed to success, fail or not. These fools will never, ever change. But they'll sure as hell keep trying to "change" you. It's all part of their own self-loathing. Watch out, this is just the beginning. Every time you turn around, their ugly noses will be in your business. After four years of this, let's hope the yearning for freedom returns to this land. 

P.S. Of couse this is why Franken and company are trying to steal the election from Norm Coleman in Minnesota. The closer they get to 60, the more they will be able to shove crap like this down the throats of freedom-loving Americans.
