TVNewser has an item today about MSNBC's David Shuster blasting Rudy Giuliani and Fox News brass while announcing a lawsuit involving the rival news channel (h/t Ian Schwartz):
This is how MSNBC's David Shuster, who once worked for FNC, reported the story in the 9amET hour:
"This is bad news, perhaps not just for Rudy Giuliani, but also for Fox News Channel. Roger Ailes who is in charge of Fox News, a close friend of Rupert Murdoch, he's been close friends with Rudy Giuliani for 20 years. Fox News commentator Sean Hannity led a Giuliani fund-raiser."
"Here you have a $100 million lawsuit in which Judith Regan is alleging that there was a smear campaign against her to protect the political agenda of Fox News of News Corp. and that that political agenda was to protect Rudy Giuliani"
Video (3:36): Real (2.64) or Windows (2.21 MB) and MP3 audio (1.64 MB).
This is vintage David Shuster, as we at NewsBusters have documented a long history of the MSNBC reporter's bias such as:
- Calling Rep. Tom Tancredo (R-Colo.) a "border control fanatic"
- Playing a biased and inaccurate "gotcha" game with Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.)
- Gleefully predicting an indictment for former Bush adviser Karl Rove.

What a Shock
November 14, 2007 - 18:21 ET by BourbeauAnother whiney liberal, crying foul and bringing a lawsuit to deflect attention to her own stupidity in trying to publish that crap written for OJ Simpson. Nothing new here; the headlines will scream the salacious content of the suit, which in the end will get thrown out, and not a damn thing will be proven. Another Plame/Wilson, made for TV, soap opera.
I'm may not be "giddy"
November 14, 2007 - 18:21 ET by sarcasmoBut I am damn-curious about that News Corp. executive's name, as I said this morning. And I'm glad, even if sex is what it takes, that the media's FINALLY looking closely at Kerrick's mob-connections.

Shuster had better temper

Oh, you should have seen
November 14, 2007 - 18:37 ET by Chris NormanOh, you should have seen Jonathon Alter on MSNBC today agreeing that this might adversely affect Giuliani's campaign. I said, "Yeah, if you can have anything to do with it..."
Meanwhile, they couldn't
November 14, 2007 - 18:43 ET by KevroyMeanwhile, they couldn't care less about Hsu, or all those busboys in Chinatown donating thousands to the Hillafund.
You know how it would play out if Hsu and The Busboys were working the Right side of the aisle....we would know everything there is to know about Hsu and I mean EVERYTHING. Newscasters would be ambushing busboys in Chinatown, "where did the money come from, Chan? Your paystubs say you take home $235 a week and you live in a hovel, so how can you afford to give Hillary $2,000?"
There would be no end to it. The MSM leftwing bias is positively sickening.
Hsu's trial date?
November 14, 2007 - 19:43 ET by general companyOT, but I wonder when he goes to trial? Could be perfect timing if Bush can manipulate a federal Judge or too. How much fun would that be.

Tool
November 14, 2007 - 20:00 ET by BigBOk...David Shuster's next 'BIG SCOOP' will probably go something like this:
Govenor of Deleware, Tom Tancredo, will be Frog Marched to the grave site of the fallen soldier that was from his district and chose to ignore because, as Mayor, he is staunchly against people from Wyoming unlawfully relocating to the neighboring state of Las Vegas!!!
Does that purty much cover this toilet bug's reality??
Now, this might sting just a little bit.....

E.D. Shyster
November 14, 2007 - 20:14 ET by fitzfongThat boy David Shyster never gives up, does he? With his pathetic little attempts to showboat on the way to the end zone, he always ends up fumbling the ball and turning over possession. We all know he wanted Karl Rove to be indicted, we all know he wants Fox News Channel, Roger Ailes and Rudy Giuliani to suffer greatly over this Regan suit (or something else when this doesn't work), but wanting it to happen doesn't make the prediction that it will happen accurate. He reminds me of the guy who talks up his own prowess in the bedroom...then when he gets the opportunity with a woman, his enthusiasm gets in the way and he's a...disappointment. Better try Cialis, Dave.
MSNBC's political agenda
November 14, 2007 - 23:16 ET by Kevin HalpernThey should look into their own house before accusing Fox News of having a political agenda. Didn't Chris Matthews recently write a "speech" for Obama to give?
How deep will this
November 15, 2007 - 12:11 ET by BeowulfHow deep will this incredible moron dig to attempt to CREATE a story? What does Hannity "leading" a fundraiser have to do with a Newscorp exec telling Regan to keep her mouth shut (assuming it really happened, which I seriously doubt)? And I would say that the first thing Regan would have to do is PROVE a political agenda on the part of Newscorp and FOX, something far easier to do that it would be with such media GIANTS as MSLSD, NBC, CNN, etc.
As for Hannity leading a fundraiser, this is taken directly from our friends at Media Matters and their inane attempt at finger pointing. They say: "[some believe that Hannity -- while clearly a commentator paid to express his opinions -- crossed the line from punditry into financial rainmaking for a presidential candidate]". There's that pesky "some believe" again, and as to Hannity supporting Guliani, so what? MM goes on to contradict themselves saying "[Hannity "introduced the Republican front-runner at a closed-door, $250-per-head fund-raiser Aug. 9 in Cincinnati]. Then "[It's no secret that Sean Hannity, the conservative Fox News commentator]". Well, there you have it. How is this earth-shattering news? Hannity is a self proclaimed conservative who has, on numerous occasions, quite openly supported Guliani. And for little Davey to call it "leading a fundraiser" is another sensationalistic miscue for the challenger of the title of Head Moron at MSLSD. MM clearly states that Hannity introduced Guliani at the dinner. How is that "leading" the fundraiser. And why didn't little Davey talk about personal contributions of the vast majority of liberal newsies to their Democrat candidate of choice? Isn't that at least as much of an issue as Hannity intoducing Guliani at a fundraiser. And has no other newsie, either hard news or commentator, ever attended and/or spoken at a political candidate's fundraiser? Is this a new thing that has never happened before in the history of the LSM?
And finally, who the hell is David Schuster to call out someone on his or her political beliefs? Shuster is supposed to be a journalist, meaning unbiased and "leave your opinions at the door". Yet he is arguably one of the most biased, opinionated, leftist "reporters" on air today. What an imbecilic clown...
