The fervent cheerleading for Barack Obama by the Los Angeles Times continues to roar. We've documented the staunch pro-Obama position at the Times several times before: here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, here, and here - for starters. Now check out the images from today's front page (Sun. 10/12/08). While a comfortable Barack Obama happily basks in the sun in a bright backdrop of red, white, and blue, a frail-looking John McCain is pictured in the dark with a faint and blurry flag in the distance. Equal coverage? Not even close.
Then there's the accompanying article, "Obama rides a wave of bad economic news." The Times happily cribs from the hackneyed "lifelong Republican-turned-Democrat" playbook:
WASHINGTON -- For months, Mark Wagner stuck by John McCain, even as the economy stalled and other Americans came to blame Republican leadership. Then, about three weeks ago, the deepening economic downturn pushed him to reconsider.
Now, the Florida salesman and staunch Republican has abandoned the GOP ticket. Sarah Palin, he thinks, looks under-equipped to be vice president. And McCain, he says, displayed an unsteady response to what may be a global economic depression.
You get the point. The Times is so gleeful over the thought of an Obama presidency, they've thrown any sense of originality or objectivity out the window.
Meanwhile, if you're looking in the Times for any sober examination of Obama's minimal political achievements or dubious associations - good luck. ("ACORN" or "Ayers," anyone?) Such coverage has been minimal - at best. Yet the Times remains fixated to report any negative portrayal of Sarah Palin that they can (link).
Boy - it must be nice to be Barack Obama and have the media so much on your side!

October 12, 2008 - 19:11 ET by kgLA Times: "Lifelong Democrat Pushes for McCain"
A joke, a joke. You will never see this in print.
"Forget change, I want improvement!"
LAT times is just spining it as usual; here's proof
October 12, 2008 - 21:16 ET by wdhorningThe number of Democrats & independents supporting McCain will easily out number the number of Republicans & independents for Obama. Here is why:
+ for Obama are a few Republicans discontent with McCain because he seems not conservative enough (these people will likely not vote for either)
+ for McCain are Clinton supporters who found Obama greatly offended Hillary and her followers (they will vote for McCain or not vote at all)
+ for McCain are lots of Jews, who generally look deeply into political issues and will find Obama's past, haunting with respect to Israel, especially since he has a Muslim upbringing as a child (they will vote for McCain or not vote at all)
+ for McCain are Democrats & independent women who will vote McCain because of Sarah Palin (especially those who are pro-life, and even many Democrats are still pro-life, or at least have strong reservations against abortion on demand). And with all the sexist behavior by the leftist MSM, it will anger some women into voting for McCain
+ for McCain is McCain's record of accountability versus Obama's unknown or Obama's known, dubious background
+ for McCain will be some white racist Democrats, of which there are many more than in Republican circles (note: I feel racism is very wrong; I am merely pointing out a "fact of life")
+ for Obama, many more blacks will vote for Obama only because he is black, regardless of any other issue (note: I feel racism is very wrong; I am merely pointing out a "fact of life")
+ for McCain will be many Catholics who feel Biden is in violation of the Pope's pronouncements. In fact, the Vatican had some direct comments about Biden and Pelosi.
+ for McCain will be the realization that since the Dems are in power for the last 2 years, they had more than enough time to prevent the current financial crisis but did not, and since Obama is a Democrat and since his old buddy is Raines, who got 90 million for sticking taxpayers with the rescue plan, they will wake up to this fact and vote McCain. (In fact the smug AP tried its re-direction trick by trying to take our minds off of the "ugly" Democrats who caused this crisis, and tried to make us think of how this crisis made some people "ugly".
+ for McCain will be certain Christians who see Rev Wright's behavior to be non-Christian and so Obama is non-Christian in his behavior since he attended that church for 20 years.
+ for McCain will be some Democrats, who think like Lieberman and see Obama as a threat to the national security of the USA.

October 12, 2008 - 21:22 ET by Cool ArrowThe choice is between two mental midgets.
McCain will sell us out in a heartbeat in hopes for a reacharound the aisle.
All we have is hope he will keep his SCOTUS promise. All else is Obama 101.
McAnus chose 2 weeks ago to side with Socialism when he could have differentiated himself from both Bush and Obama. He chose to play safe.
Given the choice between two losers, you can count on Americans to get that breaking the onyx ceiling out of the way.
An end to racism in America!!! Now shut up, get an education, get a job, wait until marriage for kids, stay married, succeed.

Lies Built On Lies
October 12, 2008 - 19:25 ET by JoelCTThis entire Democrat candidate is built on lies that have been perpetuated by a media that wants a Socialist elected at any price. This has nothing to do with Obama any more. If the Dems had nominated Dennis Kucinich, they would be doing the same thing.
Every non-Democrat needs to get out of their house, out of their comfort zone, on November 4th, and VOTE.
I voted in my first election in 1980, from Germany, while in the United States Army, and I have never said this before. This year, I am going to fill in the box of every Republican on the ballot. no matter who it is. If Larry Craig moves to Texas and runs for something, I don't care, I'm voting for him.
I am not going to pull the lever for the Republican ticket. I don't trust the poll workers any more, even. I am going to physically fill in every box with an 'R' by the name.
It is time we showed the MSM and the Democrat Party that we are NOT going to allow them to LIE their way to the Presidency. We are NOT going to allow them to LIE their way into control of the Legislative Branch. They can fool an awful lot of the people an awful lot of the time, but they cannot fool the majority of the American people all of the time!
Who's with me?

October 12, 2008 - 20:06 ET by JoelCTI'm sure it was an innocent mistake that was made... yeah right. I believe New York is going to go red for the first time since Reagan.
I still laugh, even after hearing it a hundred times, when Rush plays that clip of Teddy Kennedy mangling Osama uh Obama's name during some speech.
