Bill Maher is the reason I dropped my subscription to HBO and frankly don't know he exists except when it is posted here. Maher is still a whiney intellectually challenged sissy who only exists to give voice to like-minded lunes who can't get on other shows.

More and more it looks as though the next election will give America a very clear choice --- either vote for sanity or give the nation over to the loons. "Liberals" are poison. Just look at that picture of Garofolo. Does any decent person actually want to be associated with that ( much less have ignorant nuts like this pressuring our government  on public policy)? Twenty-four Democratic senators voted against condemning the Patraeus ad. Scheeze!

Yes, Garofalo, Petraus is betraying you, it’s your loony left world view that he is betraying. Otherwise he is rational, in touch with what really is going on in Iraq, whereas you are not. How do you know he is lying? Or are you just a dysfunctional punk from the corner co-op that “makes a living” from being an “artist” who also works a part time job because being an “artist” doesn’t pay the bills? BILL MAHER: They've made it a whole referendum on this General Petraeus.

Of course, he's talking about MoveOn.org.  For months, the Bush Administration advised that it would be best to await for Petraeus' report in September before debating the next course to take.  As even MSM reports from Iraq declared that there was some progress under the Surge, MoveOn and its anti-war allies targeted Petraeus himself to delegitimize him before he could deliver the report.  The principal targets of MoveOn's message, culminating in the infamous Times "Betray Us" ad, were the Democratic Senators and Representatives; MoveOn was directing them to reject Petraeus even before he arrived at the hill. 

GAROFALO: . . .  And the thing is is to pretend that it's MoveOn.org that has the problem, and that the mainstream media allows that nonsense to continue. Yet, he (GEN Pateaus) is betraying us and I don't know why there aren't more brave Democrats who will say, “yeah, he is.”

The MSM did cover the Republican objections to the MoveOn ad, as well they should.  A few pundits may have commented that they thought the ad was over the top, but I saw very few liberals defend the General's credibility and integrity.

As for "brave Democrats," it's unfortunate that in a contemporary context, that term is an oxymoron.
