In his speech preview over lunch with television anchors and Sunday hosts, President George W. Bush expressed anger over the MoveOn.org ad which maligned General David Petraeus, a view Katie Couric vaguely relayed Thursday night without mentioning MoveOn.org while, on NBC, Brian Williams and Tim Russert specifically highlighted Bush's “outrage.” Russert related how Bush said “those who are responsible could, in effect, stuff it.” On ABC's World News, George Stephanopoulos, who attended the lunch, discussed some of Bush's comments during the gathering, but didn't mention his take on the full page ad, in Monday's New York Times, which declared: “GENERAL PETRAEUS OR GENERAL BETRAY US? Cooking the Books for the White House.”
On the September 13 CBS Evening News, Couric relayed: “The President was as defiant and unwavering as ever. And visibly angry about those who question the integrity of General Petraeus, calling it 'disgraceful' and suggesting it was an effort to undermine the General's testimony.” Over on the NBC Nightly News, with the ad on screen, Williams cued up Russert: “He had a lot to say about the ad by MoveOn.org that went after General Petraeus the day his testimony was to start on Capitol Hill. This ran full page in several newspapers.” Russert confirmed: “He said that he was just absolutely outraged by the trashing of this General, that those who are responsible could, in effect, stuff it. He was very energized and quite angry, Brian, in terms of that ad.”

I read that as "The MSM was a DEVIANT & unwavering as ever".

September 13, 2007 - 20:04 ET by Airforce_5_OOnce again I call on the Dem Leaders to standup and denounce this add.
I know it will not happen but it says volumes about who is running on the left.
Time to bring down the thing called Moveon.hole.
The only thing you should feel when shooting insurgents is the rifle recoil.

September 13, 2007 - 21:34 ET by Lame CherryWhat sickens me to my stomach about the moveon attack ad is what apparently no one is addressing and that it was deliberately shot to mimic Adolf Hitler in a 30's style poster emplying that the US Capitol is akin to a Nazi haven.
Excuse my western french, but this was not burning the flag but pissing on every United States citizen in this ad.
In time of war this is not covered in free speech any more than yelling FIRE in a theater, this is a criminal traitorous act and those responsible from Soros funding to the propagandists creating it should be arrested, tried and hung by a military tribunal.
This is a war crime and the President and Congress need more than outrage, they require action to protect the Constitution and the United States they took an oath to serve.

You can try and spin it
September 13, 2007 - 23:22 ET by mrsimeleYou can try and spin it anyway you want, but the advertisement is protected by the 1st Amendment. Just because we are in a time of "war" (more like occupation) does not mean there can be no dissenting opinions. I think you want the U.S. to be like the old U.S.S.R. or something. You are the real traitor. Thank God moveon.org is gaining the power they need to trump this corrupt Administration. I am sending them a large donation right now.
Dissent is one thing.
September 13, 2007 - 23:30 ET by Dave RActively supporting our enemies in a time of war is an entirely different matter.
Where I come from, it is called treason.

Lame Cherry… interesting charge. Do you have any links to support your view about the selection/staging of the General’s photo?
If You Don't Mind My Asking
September 14, 2007 - 07:23 ET by BourbeauHow much is that very large donation you're sending off.? Moveon.org is a thug organization, and the Dems are falling right into their grasp. Say what you want, when someone starts slamming you with $300 million in campaign contributions, you start towing their line. There's nothing this organization has shown that should make anyone feel good about their leverage; and I suggest you won't either when you see more of what they have coming.
