For general discussion and debate. Possible talking point: Gotcha Politics.

By now, you've likely read about or seen Barack Obama's Muslim faux pas on Sunday's "This Week." As I watched it in real time, I didn't think much about it, but began receiving e-mail and private messages from members and readers. Two of the editors conferred, and agreed that in the full context of the discussion Obama and Stephanopoulos were having, this was an innocent mistake. FWIW, Hot Air's Allahpundit saw it the same way.

In the end, there were a lot more important issues Obama discussed Sunday that should enrage citizens such as his error concerning selective service, what he said about tax cuts being delayed, and abortion.

Aren't those more important than an obvious slip of the tongue during a lengthy interview? Or is gotcha politics the way of our world, and we should all just get used to it?
