How do you elaborate on a headline like this? (HT Hot Air Headlines)
The mainstreaming of a domestic terrorist continues apace. Of course, Huffington Post isn't "mainstream" in any real sense, but is considered as such by out-of-touch Old Media, which (post-election, of course) has frequently feted the 1970s Pentagon bomber.
Here's the Huffington Post URL in case you wish to visit (I'd rather not hyperlink it):
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/bill-ayers/obama-and-education-refor_b_154857.html
At the link, HuffPo describes Ayers as "Author and Distinguished Professor of Education and Senior University Scholar at the University of Illinois at Chicago." There is, of course, no mention of his violent Weather Underground history.

I think this says it all
January 3, 2009 - 09:18 ET by mizflame98Quote from the Huff Post article:
So I would have picked Darling-Hammond, but then again I would have picked Noam Chomsky for state, Naomi Klein for defense, Bernardine Dohrn for Attorney General, Bill Fletcher for commerce, James Thindwa for labor, Barbara Ransby for human services, Paul Krugman for treasury, and Amy Goodman for press secretary. So what do I know?
This guy is some piece of work.

The Left is Shameless
January 3, 2009 - 09:46 ET by The Smokin FrogWhat are we being told now by the left? It's not only okay to bomb this country, but it is to be praised. How much hate for this country and their fellow Americans do these people harbor?
Bill Ayers is quite distinguished alright. The left is shameless and Obama does know him well.
I love sarcasm, Tom.

I Love It!!
January 3, 2009 - 10:05 ET by pbthinkerPersonally, I hope that Huffington gives all of Obama's associates a voice on their website. The more people hear from these people the better, in my opinion. Bill Ayres will be spouting his education theory, which President-elect Obama has heard on numerous occasions, and people will be wondering what our new Secretary of Education will be doing to the system, once he takes over.
Hell, let's get Reverend Wright on there, proving that those 2 minute sound-bites we heard were actually 3/4 of his sermon and not just the snippet that Obama's people want you to believe.
The beauty of this is that people will finally come closer to understanding what a lousy job the press did vetting Obama and his friends.

Don't visit the Huff-Po
January 3, 2009 - 11:19 ET by P. AaronDon't give the Huff-Po any more more encouragement by visiting their website and giving them any impression that their choices for who writes their crap is positive.
If comunism is such a great idea, why didn't they put up a picture window instead of an Iron Curtain?
Imagine the Outrage
January 3, 2009 - 12:59 ET by BW222Imagine the outrage by MSM if a conservative Website had a former abortion clinic bomber as a contributor.

KKK okay
January 3, 2009 - 13:03 ET by DontFeedTheTrollsIf Ayers is so respected then I guess all those bombers of southern baptist churches and KKK members were just 'peace activists' and they deserve to be mainstreamed too. Maybe Obama should do a PSA for the KKK. I mean, can't we all just get along?

January 3, 2009 - 14:31 ET by brerolIt is astonishing that a unrepentent terrorist would be given time on a place like Huffpo. There is nothing the law can do to the likes of Ayers. But the public can and should ignore this filthy animal. And Huffington herself ought to be absolutely ashamed of herself for allowing this to happen.

Unlike the Arkansas prototype which was a womanizer, in the new era this slick-willie Chicago-style is a teacher of elementary education theory. That in itself may be cause for consternation to some (at least the former to everyone's knowledge focused his attentions to the confines of the legal age range).
Good ‘ole Bill is now the Distinguished Professor of Education and Senior University Scholar! Though Ayers is a documented domestic terrorist, his chosen “field of study” as a youth was that of a simple “bomber.” I dunno if that qualifies as scholarly. But I wonder, since I am not familiar with the curriculum at the University of Illinois at Chicago, is this discipline part of the distinguished professor’s curriculum in elementary education theory now? If so, one might anticipate that the class includes construction and deployment theory.
Oh, but silly me. Not to worry. Pursuits like ordinary simplistic domestic bombing, why these endeavors, they are now decades old - that's old hat! One can only hope that like everyone the good professor and individual human savior of malleable childhood learning, the epitome of society, has learned his lessons and is advancing on to bigger and better things. As the cliché goes, “with age comes wisdom.”
I hear the new fad is suicide bombing.
Now that’s sophisticated!
Whoa, Hey Bill! Perhaps an updated curriculum is in order. Please keep us informed, inquiring (huffpo) minds want to know!!!
Though, on second thought I’m not so sure I could yet advocate that my children sign up for such a class from the distinguished professor. Indeed! Assembly of things that go boom – that IS a precision science (just ask his ex).
Unless of course…
Science classes certainly are not the same without a hands-on lab and live demo first!
Class dismissed.
Ayers and his wife are two
January 4, 2009 - 11:02 ET by RR GOPAyers and his wife are two more outstanding specimens of Excrementus libtardus subspecies libtardus obamanus.
I was going to comment as to the slight differences between the Ayers's and the Manson Family, but I remember running into this:
In 1969, Ayers and his wife convened a "War Council" in Flint Michigan,
whose purpose was to launch a military front inside the United States
with the purpose of helping Third World revolutionaries conquer and
destroy it. Taking charge of the podium, dressed in a high-heeled boots
and a leather mini-skirt – her signature uniform – Dorhn incited the
assembled radicals to join the war against "Amerikkka" and create chaos
and destruction in the "belly of the beast." Her voice rising to a
fevered pitch, Dohrn raised three fingers in a "fork salute" to mass
murderer Charles Manson whom she proposed as a symbol to her troops.
Referring to the helpless victims of the Manson Family as the "Tate
Eight" (the most famous was actress Sharon Tate) Dohrn shouted:
(that's been posted here and elsewhere).
Then there's the inclusion of Sirhan Sirhan among many others in the Prairie Fire publication Sean Hannity got a hold of.
So, actually, there is no difference.
